i have a tight foreskin, what should I do?

So I live in Australia, and im 25 years old. Ive always had a tight foreskins and had no issues with it, honestly didn't even know i was different till i was maybe 17. I have had no issues with sex, bar the fact that i take a long time to cum (not a sensitive i guess so takes a bit longer).

I saw my dr and he gave me a steroid cream to try and I saw no difference then again he didn't really tell me how to apply it.

I guess wondering what I should do...took me so long to build up the courage to see a GP about it once, not sure what to do now. Its very tight, ive had it go back 2 or 3 times when ive been with someone, i guess being someone else pulling on it they don't realise where id normal stop so they go a bit far and being all lubed up from the pre cum its popped back and i get scared it will get stuck there so i pull it forward. So based on that I don't think id need to be circumcised but 3 times in 2 years ive seen the head of my penis...

Guess im asking what should i do?

You should see a specialist called a Urologist. They cover issues like this and most are surgeons. They handle issues with the kidneys, bladder, penis, testicles, vagina, prostate and other organs associated. I have had one at least 40 years now as I had prostate infections early in my twenties. I had to have a portion of my prostate removed last year as it was pressing on the bladder. In your case, I highly recommend you will be so much happier getting snipped and then you will have better sex and masterbation, in my opinion. Everyone is different but ask the Urologist. I prefer a male doctor because I just feel more comfortable discussing male related issues with a guy that understands the same issues he may have. But some guys prefer a woman so it all depends on your comfort. Trust me, these doctors have seen every form of penis around and it should not be embarrassing to you at all. I had to get my brain changed to trust doctors for these private issues and not be nervous. Trust the Doctor. In reading some other replies, it might be different in your country. In the US, the GP would just send you to a Urologist so it's best to just go direct to save time. In Australia or the UK, with government run health care it's most likely different. I love the UK and Australia...love them dearly. Cheers, Mates.

Phimosis (tight foreskin) is rarely properly cured by steroid creams after puberty is complete as the skin is now thicker and tougher than when you were a child or even a teen.

The standard answer always has been circumcision - a quick and simple procedure done under local anaesthetic.

Go to see an expert at one of the growing number of specialist circumcisiin clinics around the country.

Try and find out the correct stretching technique and use the cream for a few months and see does it improve! I would assume you would pull it back every day more and more untill it eventually comes right back. If this fails talk to your GP again and see what he/she recommends and discuss the option that will suit you best! Do all your research first so you know all the pros and cons to ensure you are happy with whatever decision you make. Good luck with it!!

I waited 40 years , in pure denial that having a tight foreskin was ok, but deep inside I knew I had to get it sorted and I’m glad I did , sex is so much better now and no discomfort , the issue with constant cleaning the glans also gone. I guess the sooner the better mate.

I went to my regular doctor and he fixed an appointment at the hospital. I was under general anesthesia. was there for about 3-4 hours then home.

I have to say that whatever you do, think it through carefully. I've got 3 mates who decided that Circ was for them in their 20's and 30's and they have all complained that they lost so much sensitivity, and wished that they had tried every other avenue before getting snipped. A couple of other guys I know who had similar issues have taken the effort to do stretching- there are various devices and methods out there- and they really have solved the issue. Best to you, just don't rush into circ, as it's not some magic cure. PM me if you'd like to chat through it.

You should do the surgery now just try to do it when your can take a week or two off of work so you’ll have time to recover. I had mine almost three months ago (I’m 22) because of phimosis and the only thing I wish I had done was gotten it done sooner. I was scared about the pain and surgery as a whole but it honestly wasn’t that bad at all. Now everything’s feeling great and don’t have the constant worry about my foreskin

The very last thing you would want to do is to amputate the most sensitive tissue on your body ... Simple "stretching" exercises will have you feeling naturally normal in no time ... as long as you stick with it ... See:

Some will say Circumcision is your best option and it will improve your life, others will say being cut will be your worst decision. Both are wrong or right ? But the choice has to be yours, do as much research as you can.

I went to see my GP in my late twenties as my foreskin would not readily pull back, sex was good and apart from one occasion when it was reluctant to pull back all was fine. Doc' said as it could pull back, even though not easily, then all was fine.

Move on about twenty years and three children later, I have a circumcision due to possible Penile cancer. Following surgery and a biopsy I am diagnosed with Zoon's Ballantitis.

Now, would I have got Zoons had I been cut ? Possibly says the Surgeon.

Now. Would I have rather kept my foreskin ? Yes. Am I happy with what I got now ? Yes.

Sorry for the ramble but when all done it has to be your decision using whatever information you can find.

My advice. You still quite young so try stretching but do not stress if surgery is your final choice.

Good luck

I'm 71 and still have my foreskin. At times I've had issues with tightness, as skin gets less pliable with age, but have found daily application of coconut oil has kept everything running smoothly back and forth. I recommend masturbating exposing the glans as much as is comfortable without causing damage, every couple of days with the cream prescribed, or coconut oil, and gradually you will find your foreskin will stretch. You then have the best of both worlds, and vaginal sex will be easier and more pleasurable for both of you.

I'm also realising from so many posts on this forum how recovery from circumcision in adulthood can be quite problematic and I believe infant circumcision is wrong in principle and probably seriously threatens the bonding process between baby and parent, so that's not good either!

You have two options: you either live with it or have a circumcision and solve the problem once and for all. It's up to you, no one else can decide for you. If it doesn't bother you I'd live with it.

I’d go see your GP and have a chat about your options,if its decided circumcision is the best solution then I’d recommend going to a Gentle Procedures clinic to get it done..most Australian cities have one( I got mine done in Perth last September). They use the Pollack technique that’s done under local anaesthetic, uses glue instead of staples or stitches and is painless during and after the op as there’s very little post op discomfort. It’s reasonably priced and the after care is excellent,so if you decide on the snip Google your local clinic and see for yourself,I’ve only good things to say about them.😊👍
