Alendronic Acid - is it worth it?
Rheumatologist had just prescribed AA as the pred will be 'killing my bones'. She wants me to take it for 6 months then have a DEXA scan to see if I need to continue. Seems a bit of a barmy way round to me, but hey ho. So I have been reading back through all the posts I can find and am now absolutely

Will low dose of pred alter the outcome of the test?
First visit to Rheumatologist today. Sending me for ultrasound scan next week. Writing to GP to confirm PMR and GCA and suggesting low dose of pred and alendronic acid because of my age to test out. Can't tell you how pleased I am because all this pain without any meds is very hard to bear. My main

Doctors given up. Not sure what is wrong :(
Hi everyone, I wanted to ask if anyone else has felt this way too. I had a lap on 21st sept for suspected endo and none was found. Before my lap, a lot of my pain had subsided, I was able to go toilet every morning which really helped with my symptoms throughout the day and my pain levels. However, since

Worried I wont be taken seriously
I'm sorry this is so long - I'm really struggling with all this. I have always had pain with my periods, I first went to the GP about it when I was 16 - less that a year after they first started, because my mum told me that the amount of pain I was in wasn't normal. I went on the mini-pill for a bit

Omeprazole
I am now down to 1 mg on Prednisolone and all through my journey I have not had any relapses. Can I ask, If you are also down to 1 mg can you please let me know whether you are still taking Omeprazole and also Alendronic acid. I was wondering whether it was necessary now on a low dose of steroids?

Liquid gel in COVID patients’ lungs makes way for new treatment.
In some patients who died with severe COVID-19 and respiratory failure, a jelly was formed in the lungs. Researchers have now established what the active agent in the jelly is and thanks to that, this new discovery can now be the key to new effective therapies. This according to a new study at Umeå

Pill causing more pain?
Hi all. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this? I started Cilique at the end of September and things were grand, apart from the mood swings and general low mood. Around 4 weeks ago I started spotting (I’m running the packs together as advised by my consultant) and since then the bleeding

When to stop taking Omeprazole?
I have just stopped taking Prednisolone- yippee. As long as this remains the case, I am only taking 15mg MTX once a week, Alendronic Acid once a week and Warfarin / a Statin at night. I have had no issues whatsoever with acid reflux so I’m wondering whether I could leave off the Omeprazole. I emailed

Hi Everyone, I found this site looking for answers as I've been dealing w/ insomnia for almost 3 months now. When if first started happening, I could fall asleep, but I'd wake around 3-4 AM, then I couldn't go back to sleep. Afterwards, I couldn't fall asleep, taking up to 5 + hours to fall asleep.

Three months off...

. -No liver-specific autoimmune antibodies. -Cancer ruled out completely. The hepatologist recommended complete abstinence from alcohol for three months and to lose weight. I've not touched alcohol since late May and I have lost about two stones in weight (approx. 13 kilos).

Flaxseed -pro or con or does it depend on your status
Not necessarily a very reliable site since they have conflicts of interest. However, the discussion of estrogens and flaxseed is of interest. https://www.goldenflax4u.com/category-s/43.htm This doctor believes that flaxseed consumption helps prevent tumors from spreading: https://sperlingprostatecenter.com
