Still battling ITP at 20 years.... and counting....
I have itp for many years & discovered that I am also allergic to juniper/cedar trees after developing hives from head to toe. Plus, I develop a kneecap arthritis 5 years ago from long term use of prednisone. I would start to faint or lose consciousness when platelets is low at 30 k. Suffered many

Health Check: three reasons why sleep is important for your health
[i]'Healthy sleep helps to maintain appropriate immune function. Sleep loss may lead to alterations in immune function, resulting in inflammatory disease, an increased risk of cancer and infectious disease. One night of total sleep deprivation has been found to cause a reduction of natural immune responses

T1 High Grade Bladder Cancer
My husband has T1 high grade bladder cancer. He recently completed 6 treatments of BCG with no problems and now waiting until June 2 for testing to see if BCG treatment worked...Anyone else have same type of cancer?

Dental work while on chemo.
I havent had any dental problems for years, halfway through chemo and i am having trouble with a top molar.I thought i had better check with oncology before i get work done, luckily as the doctor advised against any dental work while my immunity is low. So it appears that i will have to put up with toothache

What you need to know about the 2016 flu vaccine
In Australia, about twice the number of people die from influenza each year than are diagnosed with CLL/SLL. I expect the statistics would be the same for other Western countries. For the first time this year, the publicly funded vaccine program in Australia will offer the quadrivalent flu vaccine

HIV education
I work in a clinic and we have a few HIV+ patients. The medical assistants have had a few issues with needle sticks in the last few years. My boss who knows I am poz has asked if I could do an in-service on HIV education. She said a man with HIV would be the best source of education. Any suggestions

Unemployed
FYI, try to continue to work, I was taken off work 16 years ago. With how I look and my physical condition I am unable to find work. Living on disability really sucks with the cost of everything going up but not my disability payments. I never wanted to stop working but I volunteered for an hiv clinical

IVIG in the UK?
Hi folks I've had a chest infection for the last four weeks and I'm now on my fifth lot of anti biotics this year. I spent 7 days in bed recently and I was also feverish. Reading on here it seems that some of you folks have been put on IVIG when you have had similar experiences. ( note: I have already

Flu and other beasties
Our whole house has the flu--or a sinister look-alike. I probably started it. I had a flu shot, but suspect that it didn't "take" as it should. Seems like this has been going on a long time. So I've had a cough that has been pretty awful at times, and a temperature that is normal in the morning

Have you had chemo or radiotherapy for persistent non muscle invasive bladder cancer?
I was diagnosed with bladder cancer in May 2014, had 3 TURBTs, BCG & EMDA for 9 weeks, a total of 6 cystoscopies and biopsies under General anaesthetic. The cancer has reduced and remains either Gd2TpA and /or tissue CIS but I must soon decide whether to have radical Cystonomy - removal of bladder,

Is it the meds or the PD?
Or something else entirely? I started on C/L about 10 days ago and have felt worse each day since. I'd say I have the flu but I had a flu shot. The tremor is worse, I'm extremely nauseated and hurt all over. Is this a typical reaction and if so does it pass fairly quickly? Usually I get out with my dog

The story so far
I started a new job in October 2015 and decided it would be a good idea to cycle to work and get a bit fitter. After a couple of days I noticed that my urine was a bit darker than normal, but didn't think too much about it. Then one day I noticed a small blood clot. This worried me a bit, so I went straight

Survive - Catch it Early !
I was fortunate to catch my Bladder Cancer early. I had a different back pain than I was used to. After an ultra sound with "no issues", my accupuncturist suggested I go back and ask the doctor for more tests. My doctor sent me for a CT scan which revealled a tumour in the bladder. After my initial cystoscopy

Mr
My first indication of anything wrong was difficulty to pee so GP urine test showed slight blood trace - Cystoscopy results showed aggressive bladder cancer. Advised to have bladder removed - I went with BCG route and subsequent cystoscopies showed no further cancer. Now cancer returned as superficial
