Is It Time for a Nursing Home?
Hi all Its been a long time since I have been here, I am sorry about that. I have just been in headless chicken mode. My most lovely Mother is in the advanced stages of CBD. She cannot move, communicates mainly with her eyes, has great difficulty swallowing, has skin pressure sores, double incontinence

Update on Transplant
Hi all Just a quick update, hubby is now making progress, still in intensive care, but they have removed the ventilator. On kidney dialysis but hopefully that will come good too. I know we have a long road ahead of us but I honestly was scared we might not even get the chance to go on it!!! The staff

Sudden daily wetting during school
My 7 year old son has had problems with chronic constipation since the age of 2. He has been on movicol throughout that time and more recently supplemented with sodium picosulphate. He sits on the loo after breakfast and after dinner and at present is free of soiling accidents and does a poo most days

Feeling so rubbish
Hi posted last week about this horrid anxiety working it’s way back into my life. One of my many problems when it comes to this is accepting what Im feelng is anxiety and not something much more serious. I truly don’t know how I have got out of bed the last week or so and functioned. My head is so sore

I hope your mom’s palliative nurse will refer her to the palliative doctor asap to help resolve your mom’s constipation. Incontinence solutions
I've been reading several posts from our community about incontinence, washing bedding everyday, etc. I've posted this before and it may or may not be helpful to you but I'll share our solution. Sandy has a Foley catheter. They may call it something different outside the U.S. This is an indwelling catheter

Coma for a month
Hi readers, my boyfriend has been in ICU for more than a month now due to severe head injury he got from quadbike accident recently in brims. He was put in induced coma for weeks. But was then taken out of induced coma. He had a tracheostomy for weeks. Good thing he is showing little movements of arms

PIP assessment
My husband is 30 years post head injury. He has received DLA mid rate for about 25 years. He was told that this was a life long award due to the extent of his injuries. Now he’s being changed to PIP and has been told he needs to attend an assessment in Brighton. This is 25 miles from where we live and

4 year old refuses toilet and potty
Hi, I'm really struggling with my 4 year old son. He simply refuses to wee or poo anywhere other than in a nappy. I live in Belgium and am struggling to find support, particularly as we are not fluent in french. I've tried the ERIC helpline countless times but just can't get through. I don't know what

How to get back into education
Hello, I was hit by a car while on the pavement seventeen years ago, sustaining a right frontal lobe injury, I was fifteen at the time. Since then I've made as good as a recovery as anyone seeing me at the time could have hoped for, but i think the main symptom I've been left with is a reluctance to

Intro post/vent
Hi! First time posting, and I sort of wish it wasn't just because I need some understanding ears to vent to! I had a minor head injury almost a year ago now. In Hospice as of now.
My second attempt at setting up palliative/hospice care happened yesterday with a visit from the intake nurse from the new agency. She told me when she was still doing field work she had three cases of PSP. She actually knew something about the disease. I felt like this was the place we should be. Someone
