WHY HAS CO-PROXAMOL BECOME SO EXPENSIVE?
MHRA have continually protected the identity of the unscrupulous importers until the intervention by the ICO when they finally disclosed all the licenced importers in November 2022.
My first FOI request to MHRA asking MHRA to disclose the names of licensed UK importers of Co-proxamol was 19th

Besremi and vaccines
Hi, I need to get a Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria, and whooping cough) vaccine as my daughter just had a baby. To date, I've had no issues with many COVID vaccines, the flu or shingles, but EPGuy mentioned a concern with Besremi and the flu vaccine and his reaction. Anyone had any issues with vaccines

ARTIFICIAL LIVER
Good news , maybe we don’t have to wait for a liver transplant after all. I didn’t realise that machines existed that can carry out the function of the liver, at this stage they are external like kidney dialysis. Would think you have to hooked up permanently as the liver is always working.

Live shingles vaccine or not?
I would appreciate your guidance on the importance of which kind of shingles vaccine to have, i.e. live or not? I am on medication for GCA, 5.5mg Prednisolone, plus Levothyroxine, Bisoprolol, Amlodipine, Rosuvastatin, Ursodeoxycholic Acid, Famotidine, Losartan. With many thanks.

Syringe
A recently change of my biologic arrived requiring syringe application where previous biologic was via pen applicator which was easy and fine to self administer.Administering the first dose of new biologic was awkward and unpleasant to do with its longer needle and pushing the plunger with a swollen

My Condition and OP - Update.
Hello all. Was having a lie-in this morning - The phone rang and it was the urology waiting list people. I was informed my op to see if the BCG treatment had worked or not, is scheduled for the 8th of October. I doubt very much the BCG will have worked - I think my urology/oncology nurse thinks

Flu season here!
Hello folks, I'm interested to know if long term ME sufferers end up with a totally weird immunity. I'm in my early 70's, developed ME following viral pneumonia in my 30's, then over a decade later discovered I also had Hashimoto's thyroiditis (am on thyroxine).I've managed to dodge Covid even though

Got a cold during first trimester.
I got a cold last Wed and I recovered now. I didn't have a fever, just initially sore throat, coughing, blocked nose. I recovered now. I am strong in normal time, however, since I got pregnant become weaker. I worry catching a cold any impact on my pregnancy, especially during first trimester? Can

Ambroxol
Would anyone share if you have participated in a clinical trial using the drug Ambroxol for PD? There have been several clinical trials which have published encouraging resusts, mostly in the UK. I am not formally in a trial but have been duplicating the dosage for about 12 months. My experience is favorable

Update on Nuclear Scan and where I am at now.
First: thank you all for the kind support I have received since - Much appreciated. To the Nuclear Scan ordered by my GP for suspect spread from bladder cancer to the bones. I got a call from my GP surgery today telling me Dr wanted to let me know, NO bone cancer found. Thant's one worry gone.

Shingles vaccine
My wife was refused the shingles vaccine by her GP as she wasn't old enough (not over 70) we asked for it a year after she had shingles which she really suffered from and still has a bit of discomfort from. Has any MPN patients been refused because of their age?

hepatitis to cirrhosis
Is it possible for an alcoholic to progress to cirrhosis without ever having alcoholic hepatitis? What are the chances of someone who heavily drinks to get cirrhosis without warning signs before it gets to that point?

I had a TIPS procedure done three weeks ago after ruptured varacies during a banding session. Is it safe to have another Covid vaccination?
A month after having my 4th Covid vaccination & a flu jab in September ‘22 I was diagnosed with PMR - coincidence probably? Anyway, I’ve received my invite for a 5th Covid jab ‘as my immune system is compromised’. As this would be my first vaccination since being diagnosed I would be interested to

varices
I was diagnosed with Hep c 2020, now cured but have cirrhosis. Had endoscopy 2 years ago, no varices. my question is how long do they take to develop? Someone I know has tragically just passed away following a massive bleed and I can’t stop worrying now.

Covid free
When I arrived in the UK one week ago my daughter had been testing positive for Covid for 5 days. She had no symptoms and was very frustrated. Testing regularly she finally tested negative today. 🥳 I have tested negative the entire time. Last year my partner had his knee replaced and got Covid. I was
