Hi Was diagnosed with DVT and been on
Heparin
(now off) and Warfarin for nearly two months out of a three month treatment time. There was no obvious reason for the DVT and all the main factors were ruled out and I'm an active 36 yr old.

Professor Graham Hughes June 2014 Blog
Finally, after a brain scan which showed small lesions, she was started first on
heparin
and finally on warfarin. Marked improvement, but still problems, including fatigue. She was referred for a second opinion.

Professor Hughes June Blog 2014, included as much content about the link with Thyroid problems!
In many ways, Mrs M.G.’s case ticks all the boxes: • Headache/migraine • History of teenage ‘glandular fever’ • Limb jerks • Angina (Syndrome X) • Unexplained foot bone fractures bone ischaemia) • Brain ‘dots’ on MRI • Response to aspirin
heparin
warfarin • Sjögren’s syndrome and response to Plaquenil

Heparin trial
Hi all, I'm due to see my rheumatologist soon, would it it be acceptable to ask about a
heparin
trial because I feel the 300mg. Of aspirin daily is not doing the job anymore, I seem to be getting a lot of headaches/ migraines again.

Had
Heparin
and now on Warfarin. INR is not stable but then who's is? ... This forum's a great idea and you've all educated and calmed my ignorance. Thanks.

Complicated
I was admitted to a ward to get checked over the following day and got a
heparin
injection until so. During that night I started bleeding knowing that being pregnant and bleeding was not a good sign. The blood clot was completely ignored and I got put to the maternity wing.

Getting very anxious now.
They've said it's got to be between certain numbers which doesn't mean much to me as I'm normally not on medication other than aspirin and
heparin
in pregnancy. Just really hope the baby will be ok! Just want him or her here now safely. I feel like it's been such a long journey!!!!!!

Self Referral to see Prof Hughes
Hi. I am going to self refer to see Prof Hughes, but would like to know if : - 1. Can I ask for all records, notes, lab results and scan from MRI on brain and could they refuse? 2. Would I need to put this in writing to each hospital dept? 3. Is there an admin charge for each dept? 4. Has anyone encountered

Heparin...lump!
I take Clopidogrel and recently started using
heparin
. I've been getting on ok with the injections, I have had some bad bruising on my tummy. Today I noticed a lump in my tummy, about the size of a pea. Has anyone else ever had this? Thanks.

What after care did your child get?
My baby was diagnosed with meningitis B at 11 months old. Thankfully she recovered and is now a beautiful happy 17 month old. My question is what care did you receive once your child was discharged from hospital? My little girl had 1 follow up appointment with the consultant where he asked general question

Great article - written for Thyroid UK for their quarterly 'Harmony Magazine' by Professor Graham Hughes
Hughes Syndrome usually responds well to treatment of the ‘sticky blood’ – with either baby aspirin (75mgs once a day) or with
heparin
(now widely used in Hughes Syndrome pregnancy), or, in more severe cases, with warfarin.

J.L. was given a trial of
heparin
– with complete resolution of the migraines. She is now headache-free on warfarin and we are considering one of the new oral anticoagulants. What is this patient teaching us?

Waiting for my test results
It would be nice for the doctors to find that warafin or
heparin
would help. So I am patiently waiting for my test results. Thank you again for all the great information in your posts. I feel like after 25 years of being on my own, I’ve finally found my group. :-)

Has anyone lost their baby at 21 weeks gestation because of lupus? Any advice anyone could give me would be greatly appreciated.
I have lupus and have been told i have to take
heparin
and aspirin everyday throughout my next pregnancy. Losing my son has affected me massively and its still rather fresh with it being only 3 months ago. But myself and my partner wish to try again soon.

MIL just wants a boy!!!!! When we know it's a girl
The pregancy has also not been entirely easy as I was down with sickness until 20 weeks and on
heparin
injections as I have a lupus anticoagulant positive. For us to be progress so far is nothing short a miracle looking at my past history and we found out its a little princess we are getting.

I started Warfarin in March and live in New York. I don't love the testing and diet restrictions. What are the generic alternatives?
Is Fragmin a generic form of
Heparin
? Are there any alternatives in generic form that do not require testing and diet restrictions? I have APS and am being tested for Lupus. I had a stroke in March. I am ambulatory, initially lost my speech but have almost totally regained it.
