Can azathioprine cause chest pains?
Hi, I have been on azathioprine tablets mostly 75mg to 100mg for my Lupus for approximately 20 years. Have been experiencing chest pains on my left side especially after excretion. I had various tests and scans but they are all negative. I had Covid last September and had to stop taking the azathioprine

second valve replacement
I had an aortic root and valve replaced in 2017 (mechanical valve) after combination of poor valve function and swelling aorta. This problem was found during a transasophogeal echo in advance of an ablation to tackle bouts of disabling AF that were only ever resolved by electrocardioversion. In the last

Good morning , I’m now on the waiting list at Papworth for surgery following my latest echo and review with my cardiologist. I note from his letter to the hospital that he has recommended a valve replacement with LAA exclusion . I have Atrial fibrillation for which I’ve had two catheter ablations which

Recently diagnosed with aortic regurgitation (leaking aortic valve), I am interested in the experience of others with this. Where to source otc warfarin 1 mg or 0.5 mg
I need to buy 1mg or 0.5 warfarin. My mom 13 years ago had mitral valve and aortic valve replacement and requires to take warfarin but recently we found that her fit size should be 1 mg and or 0.5mg which is not in her residential location. I'm willing to trade 5 my warfarin for 1 mg or 0.5 mg. I can

Fed up with BPressure
Well!My bp has been really stable for over 12 months ,120 /130 70/80. So reduced Losartan from 100mg to 50mg ( 25mg twice a day) on Dr's advice. Monitor regularly. Few weeks back,Monitor packed up but didn't replace immediately, didn't feel the need urgently. However last week felt a bit tired and

Ablation appointment take two …..
Deep breath and all fingers crossed, I’ve been given provisional appointment for cryoablation end of this month. They need to use an internal echocardiogram on me (ICE) due to previous heart surgery and clot risk. There is only one such thing in the locality which is why they had to cancel todays appointment

Aortic Stenosis I’m so confused!
Hi all, so glad I’ve stumbled across this forum!!!. I was found to have a heart murmur by accident in 2012. I was put under cardiology where they told me I had a bicuspid valve and was seen every 3 years initially. Iwas later signed off because they said it wasn’t progressing but to go back if I noticed

Feeling Disappointed
Following an ablation for SVT in January 2021 I have been problem free for two and a half years (at least heart wise). I began to feel breathless about three weeks ago and now am experiencing fairly regular runs of af. I have had an ablation for af in the past as well as surgery to repair leaky valves

Interesting Article (please read)
came across this article today and would like to know your thoughts: i was swayed by flashy advertising in the late 1990s featuring medical stars like Professor Lord Winston, who convinced me that omega-3 fish oil supplements were essential for my brain and my heart. Fast forward to today, and

Steve 6 and a half years since heart failure.
My heart problems materialised when my customer said to me you look terrible as I wheeled a barrow up a ramp with heavy concrete blocks. Next morning I was in a ward being told I had heart failure. Was a shock and after 2 years on meds was finally sent in for a aortic root and valve replacement. So
