Hi I'm Jo,Three years ago I had an aortic aneurysm which resulted in a aortic root & valve replacement. I had a mechanical valve as I was 52, so I have been on Warfarin ever since.

My Warfarin levels are rarely right, so have to have it adjusted regularly, but this is my concern. Three months ago I started bleeding from my bladder. I had tests to rule out anything nasty & the bleeding was put down to the Warfarin. My research suggests the blood is coming from the kidneys, it can happen anytime with no warning & has caused embarrassment. I saw my GP last week & was basically told as I need to be on it I'll have to put up with it. This weekend the bleeding was quite heavy & lasted 24hours. All the information I look at says to go to A&E if you experience bleeding so I'm confused.

Has anybody else experienced this & is it something I have to put up with? I've been very distressed by it. Thanks in advance for any help or advice.

Jo
