amiadrone
For those of you with hypothyroidism and heart disease, have any of you been advised to or taken amiadrone and warfarin prior to cardioversion to increase likelihood of staying in sinus rhythm? There are so many contraindications for me personally due to other meds and comorbidities.

... And the beat goes on
12 months ago today I woke up in unfamiliar surroundings, a hospital bed. The day had arrived, I was having bypass surgery. In all honesty I can't say I was nervous the only thought in my mind was the ultrasound I was having on my legs, the surgeon was concerned about the viability of my legs veins,

Walk for Hearts
5 months post heart surgery and I’ve committed to doing the 50 miles during October for the BHF. Is anyone else planning to do this? This photo was taken 2 months after surgery and with our new granddaughter who was born when I was in ICU recovering after the op. Having made a full recovery, I appreciate

Echocardiogram
I had an echocardiogram last October and have had another one recently. I got a letter from my cardiologist with a copy of the results saying it was ok but he gave virtually no information about the progression of my heart failure and permanent afib. I took a photo of both echo results and uploaded them

A couple of unusual patients
50 years ago, a young merchant seaman was admitted to the ward in fast AF and heart failure. He had the protruding eyes of Graves Disease He had a reasonable response to antithyroid drugs but not so much to Digoxin and Frusemide . He just went slowly downhill over 2 weeks and died. His family had difficulty

worried
my husband is currently in theatre having a triple heart bypass. I feel so worried even though I know he’s in good hands. just wanted to seek some moral support. The waiting for news is quite stressful.

Non-sustained atrial tachycardia (NSAT) and flecainide
My most recent Holter showed various ectopics and a few episodes of NSAT. The bouts just lasted for a few beats (5 - 7) and my cardiologist was not overly concerned. I have just been advised to continue with my current medication (bisoprolol and flecainide), and to monitor the episodes in case they become

I sent one of my Kardia results off for a Clinician Review ( from Alivecor ) It was a ‘Sinus Rythmn with Supraventricular Ectopic’ reading that I wanted confirmed, as I am beginning to think all my SVEs could in fact be Afib ! Anyway, I just got the result which stated : Atrial Tachycardia. Can anyone

Dry mouth Apixaban/Bisoprolol
Apixaban & Bisoprolol - Does anyone else get a dry mouth while on these? Guess it maybe because I tend to breath harder through my mouth due to the breathlessness caused by the Bisoprolol?😤

Issues with Entresto
I have dilated cardiomyopathy but also associated with it, AF and heart failure. I have just been started on Entresto as an alternative to Ramipiril (which I had been on stably for 6 months). Since starting on the Entresto I have had continual very unpleasant lip tingling and my lower face has felt (
