Apixaban & Bisoprolol - Does anyone else get a dry mouth while on these? Guess it maybe because I tend to breath harder through my mouth due to the breathlessness caused by the Bisoprolol?😤

Dry mouth Apixaban/Bisoprolol
Yes, I was on Bisoprolol and when it was increased to 3.75mg daily I had a dry mouth, especially at night. I keep well hydrated but I would be desperate for a drink of water. When I reduced the dose back to 2.5mg the dry mouth vanished, so in my case I'm sure it was the Bisoprolol. I was taking no other medication.
Dry mouth from drugs caused me to have an infection in my saliva glands, after antibiotics all clear but was told by the ENT specialist to such a boiled sugar free lemon drop to encourage saliva........so I do !
I get an extremely dry mouth at night and had never associated it with the bisoprolol, there seems to be so many side affects of which we are unaware, this post has enlightened me!
I am a mouth breather as well but don’t have this problem I have been on these meds for ten years
Yes!!!! I only take Bisoprolol, 5mgs, so I think it is that. I'm trying to lower my dose now, with the help of my GP, as my resting pulse is very low and makes me a bit breathless.
Some might find this helpful. I went to my dentist awhile back for a regular cleaning. He noticed the new medications on my list. (at the time I was on Eliquis and Metoprolol). He explained that some of these heart medications will dry out your mouth. He prescribed a toothpaste called Denta 5000 Plus which is basically high fluoride. (You aren't supposed to swallow it) I can either brush with it or coat my teeth with it for about 5 minutes. The idea is prevent tooth decay from dryness. He also suggested Biotene products to relieve the dryness. They make mouth rinse and lozenges that help somewhat.
