I am day 3 on Apixaban plus day 5 on Bisoprolol for persistent AF - my calves are tingling after starting Apixaban no pain or redness - has anyone else had this?

sensation in lower legs on Apixaban
More likely to be the bisoprolol causing this x
I got this with neither of these drugs. Still taking apixaban and have been for nearly 8 years now with no problems. Bisoprolol was awful no matter what dose and made me feel worse than the AF. I tried all sorts of beta blockers calcium channel blockers and other rate/rhythm control medication in various dosages and combinations within the first year of diagnosis but all made me feel awful apart from low dose digoxin. It's quite likely that in the first months to a year your medications and dosages will be reviewed and changed if causing problems.
I had pains and odd sensations in my lower legs when I first started a DOAC (in my case it was rivaroxaban) but it only lasted a few days. So if it’s like mine, it may pass. Fingers crossed!
I agree with Wilsond that the Bisoprolol may well be the culprit - it affects some people quite noticably in different ways, even at the lowest dose. Good that you’ll be able to check with the cardiologist team if you’re still getting the symptoms. Jx
I have similar sensation too also my face feels different when I touch it. This started a month ago. I presumepresumed it was was Edoxaban and I am also taking bisoprolol for PAF which is now Persistent . I have an ablation scheduled for next month. Please let me know if your sensations disappeadisappear.
My Bisoprolol was increased in July and since then I have what you describe each time I walk upstairs. So I would suggest it's the Bisoprolol.I emailed my cardiologist about my increased fatigue and breathlessness and he is changing my medication.
Yes, it was the Bioprol though, once I stopped that ( with my Consultants consent) , no more tingling.
All the best.
