my husband is currently in theatre having a triple heart bypass. I feel so worried even though I know he’s in good hands.
just wanted to seek some moral support. The waiting for news is quite stressful.

aww he will be fine sending big hugs to you xx
he is in the best of hands, these teams are absolutely the best of the best. I’m 2 weeks post op and I know my wife was really scared and the waiting seems to go on forever but the consultant called as soon as I was stable with the news and she was allowed to visit me late that evening once out of ctccu.
It’s an unbelievably worrying time I know but be confident they are doing everything they can for him.
this is a good pinnacle moment.
Waiting for the op is the worst bit.
Then it’s a long journey of recovery, but downhill.
He has all the top medics around him. Hope the surgeon rings you when he has completed his work.
It’s worse for you right now than it is for your husband. I had my heart op during covid, so no visitors allowed in the hospital. It was fine for me.

I bet your sick with worry, however the surgical team are probably having deep and meaningful conversations on where the best Indian restaurant is and do they do a good chicken korma. All the best
Try not to worry I had one on the 26 march this year .my 1st shirt back at work today. Xx
It is a very long surgery if you’re waiting for a loved one, but for the people doing it, it’s what they do all the time and they’re experts. It will be over soon!
Thinking of you, waiting is so tough, praying for a smooth recovery, remember to get yourself something to eat and drink 🙏 ❤️
By the time you read my message your husband will be back on the ward, so I hope it all went ok. I know how you felt. Also when my husband first came home I likened it to how I felt bringing a new born baby home - not sure what I was doing and a huge responsibility! Just take each day as it comes and stick to what they tell you to do and it doesn’t seem so daunting after a while.
I am 5 years down the line from a quintuple bypass. Still here, still kicking. These surgeons are good at what they do, he's in fine hands and, provided he does as he is told, has a great future. Regards

I had triple last week, I’m home and doing really well.
The doctors are so skilled and nursing staff were amazing
I had my cabgx3 in April. I think I had the easy bit as I was asleep being operated on while my wife worried at home. She was absolutely amazed when she came to see me 36 hours later as I was up sitting in the chair eating and laughing with the nurses - I hope you and your husband have a similar experience and wish your husband a speedy recovery.
just wishing your husband speedy recovery ❤️🩹 and your feeling settled very soon take care both of you 😊x
By the time you read this the waiting will be over & hubby will be post surgery. I hope all went well & hubby is feeling as comfortable as possible. He really is in the best hands as you'll see for yourself. Take one day at a time & look after yourself too! X
we are with you. Sending hugs and looking forward to positive news later on
I had my triple 47 years ago at age 31 I am now 78 and doing things I never thought would be possible at op time. That was 1977 so things and efficiency have moved on dramatically since then. I am actually The Guinness World Record Holder As The Longest Surviving Triple Heart Bypass Patient in The World.
I play walking football and many of my teammates have had various heart complaints and are now still fit enough to play. The operation I know is a scary time by now I hope your husband has come through safely with a new zest for life.
Oh wow you are truly inspirational! The surgery went well and he’s sat up talking in ICU. I’m so glad the surgery is over.
Great to hear all went well it really is s scary experience for all concerned not sure what age your husband is.My longevity due initially to me not having a heart attack but only angina at extremes of exercising. What a worry at age 31 though a wife and 2 little daughters and no real life insurance cover.
Im so glad it’s fine and now you can all start to live again as I did and my family.
My husband is 61 and had no symptoms. It was found by accident after a CT scan for his stomach. Thankfully he had an anomaly as it was a full blockage of the LAD. He has another artery that took up the strain from the LAD. He’s very lucky.
Thank you for responding I really appreciate it. Take care. X
Just seen this. Hope all went well - the waiting is the worst thing. x
Waiting is always the worst thing. It is hard to member that this is routine for the surgeons - all in a day's work. It is so momentous for us as individuals. I hope it has all gone well.
only just seen your messaged sorry but hoping hubby is back with you now and alls gone well. Things can only get better ❤️🩹
It's only natural for you to be worried but he is in safe hands. And once he's recovered he will be like a new man . And you will beable to do all the things his heart has slowed him down from doing . Wishing you both all the best 🌹
21/2 post triple bypass, Also done during later stages of Covid , so like many others no visitors, till they let my daughter in briefly whilst doing a laundry run ( my wife was ill at time stress of her mum passing whilst i was having my operation . )
I got to talk to her shortly after surgery and whilst still in the recovery suit. She also spoke to one of the surgical team and was so thrilled to talk to me and know it had gone well.
Me i just wanted to curl up and die, (me and anaesthesia do not get on well especially over 6 hrs)
Hoping all goes well and enjoy having your husband back to good health .
Exactly the same situation I was in with the Mrs! I made sure I was in the theater asap to be by her side and stayed as long as needed. The doctors will have done a great job, now it's all down to you to bring him back to normal!
I live in Australia so have only just read your post. I hope by now your husband is awake and on the road to recovery. Hugs xx
Hi there ,
This sort of cardiac surgery has become so routine . Many of my friends had triple surgery and everyone has made complete uneventful recovery . Where is he having this procedure ? I can assure you husband will be okay. Best wishes.
I feel for you, my partner is having an aortic valve and root replacement on 24th. I feel sick with worry already, but just gotta get a grip, think positive and it'll all be fine. Hope everything went well x
worry not ! I have recently undergone bypass myself. This surgery is performed almost everywhere in the world and is completely safe.
All the best for a speedy recovery ❤️
It is a worry for you for sure but he is in good hands and will looked after carefully by the hospital staff.
The emotional and physical toll can be heavy for both of you and he will need care but you also need to find time to rest. Don't forget to recharge and care for yourself so you can then be there for him.
It is hard when a loved one is in such a situation as you cannot help but worry. It not usual for things not to work as you expect and bodies heal quicker than you might think.I'm lucky in both being a positive thinker and able to " go with the flow" . Best wishes to both.
