I'm not qualified to comment on your symptoms. But I do want to congratulate you on quitting smoking and drinking.

Those are genuinely massive achievements, and a real tribute to your character and determination. You've climbed the Mount Everest of willpower and I hope you feel very proud of yourself.

And whatever challenges you now face, please recognise that they have been made far easier by the efforts that you've made in the past year.

Hello 233444, I am sorry to hear about your waking up with a rapid heartbeat. It would be helpful to speak with your doctor which I am sure you will. I have woken up with huge hot flushes, but it was down to medication. Naturally I am not a doctor but I wonder if it could be any medication you are on. Even if you have been on medication for a while sometimes it can cause side effects. Please let us know how you get on and May I wish you a happy and healthy 2023. Take care, Judi

hi judi..thanks for your reply..i am seeing a doctor again on the 9th of jan..i went to a and e twice as it’s really scary..they done a ecg and blood tests and also a holter test .all said no issues…I have been on my medication for a year..bioprosol,ramipril,eplerenone,atorvastatin and dapagliflozin…I was brilliant for the first year,,not one issue…then I have now pins and needles in my left leg constantly.what feels like a shaky/different heartbeat than before (hard to explain)….and night time is litterally a nightmare now,,I lay down to sleep and wake with heart going mad ,racing fast…and tightness on my arms ..feels like bad circulation or heart not pumping properly…..it’s really scary..I did think it might be the medication…it’s just impossible to know….and the more you read the more confused you get …thanks so much for your reply….any more information or knowledge would be appreciated….I’m seeing doctor soon and cardiology again in feb…,..happy new year to you too,.thanks judi.kind regards Paul
