Respiratory virus wheezing

I’m on for some advice. My partner Alan has heart failure was diagnosed earlier 2022 this is the first time he has had a bad cold since being diagnosed. He has started wheezing pretty bad but has no fluid round ankles etc. he has a lot of congestion and coughing up mucus. should l just treat him for cold and flu symptoms. Would be good to contact his cardiologist. A negative scenario would be fluid in his lungs causing the cough with mucus.

thank you for advice l tried to get in touch with heart failure nurses but they’re all closed till Wednesday. He’s managing to breath in ok but if it gets any worse I’m going to phone 111

Old family remedy. Friars Balsam. A few drops in a bowl of hot water and cover head and bowl with an old towel.

Yes it does work ,that's what I do.Dont put too much in the bowl tho else it will blow the top of your head off. Lol.

I have had those symptoms for nearly 2 weeks now. I am prone to pneumonia, so as seeing a Health Professional is almost impossible, I have been self medicating with unused antibiotics. As long as his O2 levels are ok, I should treat as bad cold/flu.
