Is Life Better With Butter?
This is because it has been found that saturated fat also raises our levels of
HDL
(the good
cholesterol
) which protects us from heart disease.

Wow I got the right pace at last.
Cholesterol
(LDL
cholesterol
) levels have dropped but the good
cholesterol
(
HDL
cholesterol
) has increased. Blood sugar levels have also gone down to the lower side within the range. All other related results are normal.

Impact of taking up running on cholesterol ?
So last week I went back for a retest to see the impact of this healthy lifestyle on my
cholesterol
and guess what? It has gone up! My 'good'
HDL
is up from 1.9 to 2.3 but my 'bad'
cholesterol
has stayed exactly the same so my overall level is now 7.1.

Brilliant interview with Dr. Jonathan Wright http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2014/06/15/hypothyroid-hyperthyroid-disease.
Includes a few things I never heard before but covers these topics: chlorination and fluoridation kills heavy metals cause reverse T3 TRH -thyroid releasing stimulation test but you'll never be able to get it whole thyroid hormone (12 not 4) why your GP under prescribes importance of FT3 test and even

Great Cholesterol Myth
Let us see what Dr Malcom Kendrick has got to say on cholesterol control and heart disease citing from the famous Framingham Heart Study , one of the most respected and longest run heart studies ever..I particularly urge those who quote ADA guidelines for fat restrictions to read the excerpt from Dr

Hi, anyone who also got too low HDL-cholesterol?
I have tested my
cholesterol
a few times, but normally my
HDL
is too low. Most other
cholesterol
readings are okay. my GMP speculates it is due to my overweight(or rahter obesity), but i am just 35 years old. she has just recommended me to loose weight and exercise more....

For those who have been diagnosed with soft plaque...
I saw my cardiologist yesterday and my
cholesterol
is now 4.4, with my Tot
cholesterol
to
HDL
cholesterol
ratio at 3.7. He said to stop the Lipitor for 2 weeks to see if the problems improve and then to start on 5mg Crestor instead.

Cholesterol to HDL ratio = 6.63 Serum cholesterol = 5.7 mmol/L. HbA1c= 47. Do I need medication to reduce cholesterol?
Had a holiday from life style change for six weeks, away from home environment !, blood was taken for testing two weeks ago. Have an appointment with my GP to discuss high cholesterol. As far as I see this I do not need any medication to reduce cholesterol! Appreciate views and comments, thanks.

If one has serious side effects such as muscle cramps in lower back due to 5 mg tablet of atorvastatin what alternatives can be tried?
I was diagnosed with a high cholesterol (270) and was told to take lipitor 5 mg per day along with diet control. This drug gave me serious and debilitating back pain. I figured that with a lower dose (1/2 tablet a day to play interference to cholesterol synthesis) and tight diet control ( I am a strict

LIPID (Cholesterol) CLINICS, anyone?
Has anyone in the UK been to a "Lipid" Clinic. Would they know about the T4 connection to high cholesterol, or would I have to go armed ;-)

CAD Risk factor and real life example
Friends According to the INTERHEART study report released in 2004 involving 52 countries and 30000 individuals, the single most important predictor of Myocardial Infarction (MI) is the ratio of two proteins in the blood - Apolipoprotein B ( ApoB in short ) & Apolipoprotein A-1 (ApoA-1) Myocardial Infarction
