Erratic BP and Pulse measurements after taking Preds for 5.5 years and v slow tapering
Diagnosed w GCA in May2017. Finally, using the v slow tapering method, took my last Pred on Sep 13th 2022. Since then BP shot down to below 120/90. Mine has always been around 135/75 on meds. My pulse rate, normally around 75 shot up to 133. Is this to be expected? I’m having a blood test and ECG today

Advice on pausing statins
Hi folks, I've been doing well recently - changed cardiologist, had my meds reduced and excellent test results. All was looking good. Then I had to make a routine appointment with the cardiologist for a repeat prescription of Artorvastatin. I tried a few times to get an appointment but kept being told

Period started 7dpt 5dt
As I was still testing positive yesterday I went in for a blood test which showed low
HCG
. So more than likely a chemical pregnancy. But what I’m really baffled about is why my period in my natural cycle started bang on the day that it was due.

HCG rising slowly
On Thursday afternoon (at four weeks three days) my
hcg
was 220. I repeated the test Saturday morning and it’s only risen to 284. So the hospital have asked me to do another blood test on Wednesday.

Does anyone experience a short burst of ectopics with (what feels like) extended pauses between beats?
I've started to experience an odd heart sensation. It feels like an an extended pause (prob about 4 or 5 seconds) but I can also feel some sort of weakened rhythm at the same time - like PACs. Is this just a short burst of AF? Does it even count as AF if it only lasts for a few seconds? Can a short

newly diagnosed with aortic regurgitation
Hi everyone, I’ve been reading through some old messages and posts and there is a wealth of information from you on here with many people going through challenging circumstances, but I’m not sure what to make of my own situation. I’ve had palpitations for about 5 years, but put them down to hormonal

struggling to understand why!
hi I’m really struggling coming to terms with having a heart attack 2yrs ago at the age of 43. I’m a woman and told at the time they don’t know what caused my artery to collapse. I had a stent fitted. everytime I have back pain. Sore pressure like feeling in my neck. I think it happening again. Then

4-months post ablation, what I have been through.
Hi All, Giving an update on my post-ablation progress, which may inform those of you in the same process or more importantly those who are looking for answers to their immediate post-ablation concerns. A caveat, read on my experience but always talk to your EP. You may follow from my previous posts,

heart reading gadgets
i have an oximeter and a mini portable ECG monitor. I have had the oximeter longer, but it doesn’t record the heartbeat so I decided to get the ECG monitor to try and record episodes of heart rhythm disturbances that I get from time to time, eg AF and SVT. I get ectopics as well. When I’ve used them

Ecg results
I had an ecg this morning and it said that my systolic reading was 88mmhg and my diastolic was 50mmhg. The nurse said that my blood pressure was a bit low 88/50mmhg. I don't know what will happen whether or not I will be put on medication or not. I am really worried. I just hope when I see the doctor

Skipped Beats
Well--I have written on this forum before and appreciate all the feedback about my heart palpitations, anxiety, skipped beats, etc. I have had them since I was 9 on and off and now I am 70. Went to the cardiologist in June and said I was "exceptionally fit". EKG, ECHO, Halter all good. I know exactly

ecg and low blood pressure
I have had a ecg this morning and it was fine but it says that my systolic reading was 88mmhg and my diastolic was 50mmhg. The nurse said that my blood pressure was a little low but it has never been low until today. I am not sure why. anyway, I hope that there is nothing bad wrong with me. I hope you

List of sympathetic Endochronologists?
Hi I had RAI and currently on T4/T3 combo. I have been getting a private prescription from my GP for the T3 as in 2018 she said our PCC wouldn’t fund it. She is now retiring and my new GP wants to refer me to an Endo to discuss the need for T3 as I have possibly been having heart arythmia recently

Claudication in the legs
I have recently joined. I wish I had done so two years ago. I have just read a description of Claudication of the legs and realised that is exactly what I have been experiencing. Having had Claudication of the jaw during GCA I can’t think why I didn’t relate it. Possibly because old GP mentioned steroid

Understanding ECG Heart Monitoring
Many people ask questions about heart monitoring, especially when in AF. I fell across this leaflet on the AA site just now which if you are a beginner at this Arrythmia lark may be very helpful https://api.heartrhythmalliance.org/files/download/7f82ea4db24cb28b7e3452ad158d62ee
