Neutropenia and its effects.....
My bloods are currently fine with iron, transferrin saturation, transferrin and
haemoglobin
all within normal levels. However, I have started to feel dizzy, lightheaded and fatigued with mild headache again a few weeks ago.

I'm having a transfusion locally tomorrow as my
haemoglobin
is 79. However, I've still been able to go for a walk each day (3 miles yesterday) so I feel quite encouraged about general fitness going in for the SCT.

Still testing positive after 10 weeks
In the meantime, her
haemoglobin
dropped so low that she required transfusion four times. Today's news: my mum is still covid positive but fortunately the sepsis and pneumonia seem to be over. My big problem: the doctors want to discharge her from hospital.

This might be of interest for anyone who struggles to raise their iron levels or is frequently anaemic or nearly anaemic
Multivitamin supplementation may raise
haemoglobin
(Hb) concentration, but few studies have isolated the effect of multivitamins from iron on haematological status.

HB levels in blood
Dear community I understand pernicious anaemia causes low
haemoglobin
level in blood. Not sure low. Can
haemoglobin
carry on reducing 2 months following b12 injection loading ? Should hb levels increase after loading or does it take a long time?

Worsening PA symptoms after Covid
My GP did a blood test and it showed a decreased red blood cell count and low
haemoglobin
. The GP said in a text (I couldn’t get through on the phone) that “all other measures were fine - iron, B12, and folate” and no action was needed.

Haemoglobin
was dangerously low and I was given four units of blood in the next few hours. Sixteen days in hospital and I was to remain on Tinz until I would have a procedure called Angiodysplasia. A couple of weeks after discharge.

I am also slightly concerned they are affecting my blood as my
haemoglobin
was slightly raised and as far as I know I haven't been ill.

Bleeding and pain after colonoscopy and polypectomy
I continued to pass clotted and fresh blood for several hours, during which time they did repeated blood tests to monitor my
haemoglobin
levels. They had a blood transfusion on standby but, fortunately, my
haemoglobin
remained high enough to avoid this and eventually the bleeding stopped.

Venesection and NAFLD and serum ferritin
High ferritin increases
haemoglobin
, it also damages the liver but also is caused by a damaged liver, it reduces testosterone (which may explain why I started having testosterone in the first place!)

Jarlsberg cheese may help stave off osteoporosis, small study suggests
Glycated
haemoglobin
(HbA1c), Ca++ and Mg++ were significantly reduced in the J-group, but unchanged in the C-group. Switching to Jarlsberg, HbA1c and Ca++ decreased significantly. Conclusion The effect of daily Jarlsberg intake on increased s-osteocalcin level is not a general cheese effect.
