Raised cholesterol
I have been advised to take cholesterol medication by nhs endocrinologist. He did genetic testing for familial hyperlipidemia, which was negative but had an anomaly. I was given Atirvastatin which I haven’t tried as it seems to be one that has worse side effects for patients with thyroid disease. I

Homeopathic approach to preventative care
I am interested in hearing if anyone is using a homeopathic approach for preventative care or actual care of CLL. I am trying to reduce counts by trying this approach but interested to hear if anyone has any luck or can recommend sites to visit for information.

I’m just working through my second hamstring injury. Nearly there I think and hopefully back to pounding the pavements next week. I’m looking for some exercises to improve my hamstring strength, preferably ones that don’t involve weights and rely on body weight and resistance. I’ve found a ton on the

muscle strain
Good morning all. On Wednesday I turned in my seat and felt something go and since then I’ve had a soreness in my side that is very tender to touch and incredibly painful when I turn, particularly in bed. I’ve been on prednisolone for 4 years now for PMR and GCA and I’m currently on 5.5 mg so I’m wondering

I have type 2 diabetes, since 2019 and my bloods are well controlled with Metformin. For the last couple of weeks my toes are very red and sometimes feel hot. Should I contact my gp.

Thybon Henning doesn’t contain acacia?!
Sharing for info but also a question around changes to formulation. I’ve recently had my T3 increased which meant moving to Thybon Henning 20s. Since I’m allergic to acacia, I set about trying to find out if it contained it. I spoke to 2 pharmacies (SmartWay and Roseseway Labs) as well as doing my

The Zoe programme and diabetes
Following on from the recent post about the Zoe programme. I saw my daughter yesterday and she can't eat sweet things because she has pre-diabetes. She's 60. My husband at the age of about 56 was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. His sugar level was very high. He dieted, lost about 4 stone in weight

Son in Canada looks to Germany for treatment
Our 56 year old son started with colon cancer, which progressed to lung cancer and now a tumor has been discovered by his sciatica nerve. He has been continually been sent for more radiation treatments that don't seem to be working. He has heard of a doctor in Germany who uses different techniques

A question about ashwagandha?
I was looking up this herb for interactions on the pharmacuetical database I subscribe to and read the following. I am concerned about any herb that could suppress dopamine, does the statement below mean that dopamine is also reduced which is not good effect for PD? I know many folks with and without

Metformin
I have been on pred for almost three years and am currently at 7 mg. I have just been put on Metformin as my A1C is at 8.2. I’m having problems adjusting to the Metformin (high stomach acid and pains) Anyone else out there have similar issues. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
