What is energy?
This page on the British Nutrition Foundation website was mentioned here recently. It encapsulates almost every incorrect belief in mainstream nutrition, and I thought it would be instructive to pull it apart: https://www.nutrition.org.uk/healthyliving/basics/what-is-energy.html I do realise, incidentally

I'm new here so hope someone will be able to help me with Coronary Spasms
I was diagnosed with Coronary Spasms approx. 5 years ago. There doesn't seem to be a trigger that I am aware of. They come in blocks so I may be fine for a few weeks then I could have them 3 or 4 days running (sometimes 7 days). The usually occur in the evening or wake me in the night. They come in

Microvascular angina
Hi just joined the group as I have been recently diagnosed with angina. I’m, or was, very fit and healthy running swimming and cycling regularly. I am really frustrated as exertion brings on the angina symptoms. I’m back at the hospital this week and having read up on the BHF site think I have Microvascular

Sunday - Down at the Gym
One Sunday the forum arranged a gym day. Two members turned up thinking t was GIN tasting! The email also reminded those prone to angina to remember their GTN spray. Two members brought along bottles of GIN. Fortunately, someone else had brought tonic! We have a new machine in the gym. After half-an-hour

Tingling Sensation in hands and arms
Ever since I had 2 stents fitted last October I have experienced what I can best describe as a tingling sensation in both my hands and arms, although it is very difficult to give an accurate description. it is not really pins and needles, like you would get by lying on your arm, more of a feeling of

Been on holiday for a week with no running, but miles of walking (and lots of stairs/steps for strengthening my knees!). Discovered that there was an 'Up and Running' store near where we were staying (isn't one near where I live ☹), so called in. Spent a lovely 45 minutes getting my

Tilt Table Test
Hi, I’m 64 and had a pacemaker fitted nearly 2 yrs ago as an emergency for complete heart block. I now have left ventricular systolic dysfunction and angina symptoms without blockages, so possible microvascular angina, and continue to struggle with breathlessness, heavy chest and pain down left arm on

Hello everyone! I return to this blog as one of my last resorts. 7 months ago I had unprotected oral sex. All STIs tests are negative. All the candida tests I did so far (at least 6) are negative. Pharyngeal exudates and nasal exudates came back negative. Blood tests are normal. After more than half

Angina
Hi Following on from a previous post regarding my broken nose following a blackout(coughing fit) I have now seen heart consultant after a few months of delay by hospital. I was sent for ECG stress test and Echocardiogram. At the stress test after 6 minutes I had some readings which indicated a problem

Meds gastritis and heart nerves 😩
Hello all, hope all are well! Back at hospital yesterday 8weeks after STEMI with odd sort of chest sharp pain that lasts seconds but horrendous indigestion like pains. ECG showing nothing other than historic STEMI and bloods troponin at 8! Docs think I maybe reacting to prasugrel and it’s causing gastritis

Palpitations, ectopic and fibrillations
Hi all, I am 54 years old and I had a HA 11 weeks ago. Stent fitted and put on usual meds, which included ticagrelor. Shortly after discharge I started to get palpitations, ectopic beats and fibrillations. I now get them on a daily basis and I can have up to 15 plus palpitations during a day. I am

Couple of questions please :)
Firstly, does anyone know if any of the heart meds cause ringing in the ears? I’ve just started an extra one this week, Trangina XL, kind of a slow release constant GTN, am wondering if it’s that? Also, does anyone have experience of ‘complicated angioplasty’ I have 2 narrowings on the LAD, one which

Hello
Hello I’m a heart attack survivor from May 2019. I woke up at 430 am feeling as though I had slept on my arm and felt unwell. Nothing major just felt yuk. I tossed and turned not getting comfortable and got up to go to the bathroom and was sick. (Thought it was a dodgy egg from dinner) couldn’t sleep
