Hi , I am Adam and 51 years old. I had a cough and shortness of breath that started in March this year. Got referred to a cardiologist, had an echocardiogram which showed slight leaking aortic valve. I also had a positive stress test indicating a blockage. I was put on monomil XL 30mg , ranexa 350mg

4 stents 3 weeks ago and still angina attacks
Hi, I took a heart attack 3 weeks ago yesterday, emergency surgery for 4 stents and home 3 days later. Still very lethargic and experiencing intermittent angina attacks, mild pain and extreme tiredness, requiring the GTN spray averaging 4 times a day. Can anyone advise if this is normal? Took the attack

Dubious Angina Diagnosis - what advice should I give?
I had unstable angina and a quadruple bypass 16 years ago, so I was genuinely shocked when someone where I've been working went to a GP from work because she'd had a tight chest and (with no prior history of heart disease) returned with a practice nurse diagnosis of angina and a GTN prescription. She's

Living with Unstable Angina
I am a young 57 year old woman but I have unstable angina. I had a heart attack in 2018 and had a stent fitted. I am finding it very difficult to cope with unstable angina. I am taking a copious amount of medication and have been hospitalised to try and sort this out. I find I can only walk a

Sulforaphane, Acrolein, and Parkinson's
I spend a fair amount of time re-researching things I have researched previously. With my bad memory, frequently I think I am finding something new when I am not. I just came across (again) an article on Acrolein and Parkinson's and remembered that a Broccoli Sprout beverage can clear Acrolein and

Newbie: is it normal to feel like you're going bonkers whilst awaiting a diagnosis?
I spent yesterday morning at A and E awaiting a troponin blood test to see if I'd had a heart attack in the early hours of Sunday morning. I hadn't thank goodness. Flash back to March/April this year when I first went to the GP for a weird feeling in my chest. Bloods showed Vb12 deficiency and my

Second anniversary of HA and hopefully we’ll on the mend
Good reason to celebrate today as it’s two years to the day that my life was saved by those wonderful NHS folks. Suffered a Stemi / widow maker, but 4 stents got me up and running again. Luckily I live only 8 minutes away from the Leicester Glenfield Heart Unit and an ambulance was in the area. From

Another stenosis close to first one!
Hi everyone. I had a stent fitted for a stenosis of my LAD artery 26/10/21. I continued to get chest pain which got much worse in May 2022 where I've since had to use my GTN spray whenever I'm active. I was reassured can't be cardio so must be gastro. I do have gastro issues and had an oesophageal

After a lot of research and advice, these are what I went with 😁Brooks Levitate 👟 I tried so many different styles today.. Trail's just didn't feel right 🤔 Think I'm to used to my brook's glycerine But these have a bit of a lower heel drop.. which hopefully helps alleviate my ball of the foot pain

Here We Go Again?
As I write this my heart feels heavy accompanied by a dull ache and a small 'buzz' every so often. If it follows its normal progression it will start to feel squeezed during the next 24 hours & as though it has over done it at the gym and now feeling sore. This combination has seen me in A&E over 5

I have CMVA 2 years now- never needed GTN. I was on holiday in July , ordering lunch at a beach restaurant feeling fine, and suddenly just felt like I was about to leave this world…. At hospital got checked out and told all was ok and treated for fainting episode. When I read through my blood results

Unexplained symptoms after Heart attack
I had a heart attack in Aug 2020. Was in Cath. lab within 1 hour where they did an angioplasty and found Right Coronary Artery completely occluded. After 2 attempts they mostly cleared the clots, and put me on Rivaroxaban, clopidogrel, aspirin, bisoprolol. They could not put a stent in for technical

Ranexa 375 mg prolonged-release Tablets \ Ranolazine 375 mg. Has anybody had any adverse effect from this medication.
My angina has recently become unstable. I did encourage my to GP to increase my dose of Ranolazine 375 mg to 500 mg. This caused continuous severe angina to such an extent I had to go to A & E, as having a good three double blasts of my GTN spray no angina relief had happened. A few hours later, after

Trying to make sense
Short background, edited to clarify - 2 months ago exactly I ended up in A&E with chest pains... blood tests showed elevated troponin levels so was treated for a heart attack (although they were fairly certain this wasn'tthe cause of my symptoms) and monitored for 72 hours. ECGs and echo all clear.
