Healthy liver to Cirrhosis
Hello, approximately two years ago I was submitted to hospital with Jaundice after a binge drinking session. I was given an Ultrasound, and told that my results were “clear” and that my liver was normal sized and regular in outline. I was released the next day and given a prescription of Thymine .

Prescription drug induced Fibrosis
Hi. Wondering if anyone on here has had the above diagnosis. The drug involved was Nitrofuratan. The Consultant has told me the scarring will not heal.

care options for H.E and decompensated cirrhosis
Hey, hoping for some advice on care options for someone suffering with cirrhosis and H.E My dad was diagnosed this January, but clearly quite late on - he has since had 4 hospital admissions due to severe (stage 3) H.E and one time he went into coma (stage 4). This latest admission lasted 2 weeks

Coarsened Hepatic Echotexture
This finding is from the newest elastography. I thought I was doing everything right. KPA in 2022 was 10.5 F2-F.3, now it's 5.5 F0-F0-F1. I quit drinking alcohol in 2020, went on Mediterranean diet, and walk 1-3 miles per day. The only vice I have is baked goods, cookies, cake, and candy. 2022

We understand....
In my initial bio, I related to you that I had PBC for some 20 years before receiving a life saving liver transplant almost 19 years ago. In about 25% of those with liver transplants the PBC returns. We have to remember that our body still has the tendency to 'attack' it's own bile ducts and bile duct

Liver hemangiona
hi, I’ve just been told I have a small lover hemangiona. My mum passed away in September and her post mortem revealed advanced cancer of the gall bladder, bile ducts and liver lessions. I am told there is nothing to worry about but I have all the same symptoms my mum use to get, jaundiced eyes, swelling

Struggle after transplant
Hi all,My partner had a liver transplant on 25/02/2024. The surgery was a bit more complex from an anurysm but went well. Unfortunately he was taken back into surgery less than 24 hours later due to a leaking artery which was thankfully treated. He was out of ITU two days later. Four days later he experienced

A medical professionals responsibility
Last year before Christmas I had a routine blood test that showed a reduced platelet count. Went from 160 18 months ago to 139. I had been going though a period of very heavy drinking (day and night) in the two months prior to the test. I went to see the Doctor as he called and asked me to come in that

The whites of your eyes?
Sorry to bother but these last several days the whites of my eyes are grayish and bloodshot when I wake. Not yellow though. They get better as the day goes on but its curious to me and slightly worrisome. Will be weeks before I can see my liver dr. Has anyone else had this? Is it a common side effect
