Double bypass surgery
2 years today, I had my double bypass op instead of triple. See my G P last week and he was very pleased with my recovery. I feel good and enjoy life with my family and grandchildren. Anyone just recovering or waiting for surgery, I wish he all the best.Wishing he all a very Happy Christmas and Happy

Why do I keep experiencing involuntary sharp intake of breath.
Hi I am m 3 weeks post CABG and increasingly I am experiencing sudden involuntary intake of breath. I can only describe it like when a child is sobbing and then suddenly draws in breath. My Sats are all good, breathing is otherwise normal. Has anyone else had this? 🥴

Angiogram results
Well yesterday was my test day. I posted about it was going to be an angioplasty but I didn’t really want stents if there was a problem I wanted another bypass as it’s so close to my Quad CABG being done last year then I’d rather get it fixed then repaired. I had a long chat with the cardiologist and

Why do the docs love prescribing these type of drugs. I never had them prior to my cabg. I have suffered the dizziness and light headed ness but it’s the overwhelming fatigue that gets me down. So last week l decided to record my b/p twice a day to see if that sheds any light on the situation. Long story

Unsuitable for PCI or CABG
Hi, Just received a letter from my heart DR: confirming details of my last metting with her. one line I do not understand is:- Non-viable myocardium - unsitable for PCI or CABG, so what is PCI and CABG please.

Ten weeks since Bypass surgery and looking to play 🎾 tennis next week?
Hi everyone, I was wondering 🤔 if anyone else has been in my position and gone back to playing tennis at 10 weeks post Bypass and if so did they suffer any ill effects? I'm chomping at the bit to get back to playing social tennis 🎾 as it plays such an important role in my life. However come Monday

Stents AFTER failed CABG
Had stents fitted on Wednesday. Got home last night after a stay in CCU overnight. I was told at the time the surgeon managed to stent all three arteries (even the fully blocked one with 2 long stents, yayy!) Now I'm home and read the discharge letter it says one balloon to one artery and stents in the

”Novel” myocardial bridge surgery - article
Hello for anyone interested and / or with a MB, I came across the article below which offers up a “novel” approach to CABG surgery for extensive bridges (greater than 5mm deep I interpreted that as). this article suggests a bypass with the LIMA from the point of entry to the point of exit. There is

Has anyone else stopped taking a daily statin?
Hi everyone, I'm wondering if I'm alone in deciding that I no longer wish to continue taking statins? I'm into my ninth week of recovery following Bypass Surgery. I'm extremely aware that compared to a lot of people who have found themselves in my situation I'm blessed. The only fly in the ointment

Nervous about upcoming bypass surgery
Hello all. I’ve got heart bypass scheduled soon and worries are creeping in. It’s all happened really fast with me being in my early 40s and fairy active. Then being told post angiogram that a triple bypass is needed (mainly due to genetics I’m told). Any advice would be great.

It’s gone a bit pear shaped
I posted the other day about having a stress echo, I knew it hadn’t gone well after all it lead to an angina attack. I’ve been having mild chest pains ever since my quadruple CABG last June which I thought would improve but it hasn’t. My surgeon called me today to tell me it looks like there is a problem

Overmedicated with suppressed TSH - but low T4/T3 results and on T4/T3 medication
I also checked my vitamin levels: - Ferritin: 64 uG/L (range 13-150) - Folate: >19.8uG/L (range >3.89) - Active B12: >150 (range 37.5-150)- I'm on vitamin B12 injections (that I do myself every few days as the GP refuses to do them any more frequently than 3 monthly) because of

Pain is killing me
Hi, I had a quadruple heart bypass just before my 51st birthday 4 years ago, I have since been left with nerve damage in my torso. They said it would have happened from an underlying issue ok. Then just over a year ago I had womb cancer and had a total hysterectomy but now with my nerve damage I am in

My next door neighbour recently had triple heart bypass surgery + a replacement aortic valve & he has AF. He is very breathless still but had a blood & short iron transfusion a few days ago because his blood count was very low (he looked terribly pale). He isn't sleeping & keeps having bad dreams. Is
