Bit shell shocked !!
it is thirteen years since I was diagnosed with gca. , and to be truthful I have never felt well but have been ok. I still take low dose pred. And methotrexate. I haven’t seen rheumi for two years due to covid etc. so, a few months ago decided after five bad years to get a grip.

Bad chest x-ray and no dx in sight
Hi, I have just had a troubling chest x-ray after experiencing ongoing coughing and a nagging pain in the center of my chest for the past year. Doctor kept passing it off as allergies or mild asthma, but I persisted for a pulmonary consult. Now, no one will follow up with me for a minimum of 2 months

Heart vs pain
I have lived with chronic spinal pain for well over 20 years and have now run out of options for keeping it under control. I recently saw a new, lovely pain consultant who said there were no more standard options but he would like to suggest I try CBD. However my heart is a problem. There hasn't

CT-Scan of Chest, Updates
After ER doc did more indepth bloodwork night before last, my CRP had gone up from April 28 (it was at 3) to a whopping 42. He also did a test that can show negative for possible blood clots in chests (or elsewhere I guess). If negative good, but mine was "positive", which can mean a possibility because

Lansoprazole and prednisolone
At a medication review last week, the pharmacist at my local GP surgery mentioned that I should perhaps be taking lansoprazole to protect my stomach so that has now been added to my increasing list of medications. As a bit of background, I was diagnosed with PMR in November 2022 and put on 15mg prednisolone

I'm somewhat gobsmacked!
Just had phone call from local hospital. ( This is a bank holiday Sunday Morning by the way ) inviting me to drop in any time before 4.00pm for a chest X-Ray. 😯I saw the Spirometry nurse on Tuesday for a follow up to a test I had in November regarding Asthma? and she referred me. I was expecting to

Suppressed TSH and new chest pain
Hello dear people, Here’s the short version: I’m having chest pain with a suppressed TSH, so I think the doctors will want to lower my meds when I’m actually feeling more hypo than hyper. Does anyone have any advice? I so appreciate the people here! The picture above is my last thyroid bloodwork

Bright yellow urine, Flank pain, Flakes in urine
Hello, I have not been diagnosed with kidney disease, and actually do not think that what I have is primarily kidney disease - although the kidneys seem to be involved. I am posting my story here (or, some of it - since it is quite long and involved) in case anyone may have some advice for me, or if

I wonder if anyone has any advice please? I am new to this forum and this is my first post. I have congenital heart disease and have had open heart surgery twice. I now have a bi-ventricular pacemaker (I am 45 years old). My mum passed away from aortic dissection a short while ago and as a result

Care to care for a caregiver?
I feel pretty lost today, and could use a little TLC. Even if none of you can relate to this particular situation, me just making the time to ask for support feels good to me: like I'm doing what I deserve. My Joe has not bounced back after ending chemo in December. (His second assault with chemo:

I'll head over to the Caregiver site directly, but I count on you warriors for SO much information. I always start here. I updated Joe's history here but would really appreciate any thoughts you survivors can share about where we are now, realizing no one really knows........ My Joe has not bounced
