Hi All, I don't know of anyone can assist me in this complex enquiry, I will give it a try and keep it brief. I have CLL and am seeing my Haematologist on Monday, regarding persistent cough, night and day sweats, and a viral infection I have had on and off for 6 months.
I have had a Chest X Ray and an advised Cat Scan awaits. Recently I have felt better, other than a persistent dry, itchy type cough, which thankfully I will be getting checked out soon.
My query is could this cough be related to my lungs in any way. The Chest X Ray shows clear with no Pneumonia, or Infections.
A particular concern i have relates to Slow Deep long Breathing exercises which I have been doing since my CLL diagnosis IN 2018. I have noticed over the last two weeks or so that when I am engaged in a long exhale and hold of breath, I feel the need to cough, this is happening regularly when I do the exercises.
Has anyone had similar experiences, or have any thoughts on the matter, it may be totally unconnected, however any information on this would be gratefully received. All the best to all. Ron

I don't know enough about CLL to advise Vindicatrix but the fact that you have had a viral infection would suggest this is why you have the cough, perhaps the infection hasn't cleared. Its good that you are seeing your Haematologist on Monday, I am sure they will advise. Hope you feel better soon x
Interesting. Could be all manner of things. I was diagnosed with CLL 2010. Numbers were doing fine, all within parameters. 2016 developed a cough and couldn't shift it. Each sputum sample had haemophilus influenzae.
Cough persisted, numbers remained stable but my cancerous B cells started producing cryoglobulins so in 2021 I was started on acalabrutinib. Cough went almost instantly.
All was well for a couple of years but the in October I had the flu and covid jab on the same day and I've had chest infection after chest infection since.
Hi Happy Clappy, your reply was so very interesting to me, as I appear to have exactly the same symptoms you had leading up to your treatment. I am seeing my Haematologist' on 26th June for results of Cat Scan' and will mention what you said. This yet again exemplifies the value of this Web Site. All the best Ron
