Gangrene

Worried about infections, gangrene and disfigurement…Any experience with it?

If the cleanup mechanism fails it would be similar to gangrene. But in PD, the brain volume does not change / reduce, according to the severity of the disease, which is indicative of dead brain cells.

In 2019 I had emergency surgery due to an incarcerated gangrene transverse colon. The diaphragm hernia was fixed with sutures, Keyhole. Now I have another ruptured diaphragm. No accident or fall. Did anyone here had more than one hernia?

Two weeks later I was woken up and found out I had contracted Sepsis, advance step A and Fournier Gangrene. While I was in a coma I had four operations 3 debridement operations where they removed the infected gangrene areas to stop it spreading further and given a Stoma on the fourth operation.

Hiya,I was in a coma in jan-march for mixed overdose, CLABSI, cellulitis, gangrene to left thigh, sepsis, multi organ failure, end stage renal failure/on diyalsis, ventilation associated pneumonia and the list goes on.

Unbeknown to me I had contracted Covid, Sepsis, Gangrene and osteomyelitis - quite a potent cocktail of infection! The outcome was I had a bellow knee amputation of my left leg.

I said my mum had had a gynae hysterosocopy and biopsies and the next day got gas gangrene (she went to intensive care for two weeks ) had an emergency hysterectomy and ended up on the kidney unit at King's for three months.

Rheumatologist & dermatologist told me NOT to have IV placement in my hands due to high gangrene/ulcer/etc. risk. There have been MANY infections/ulcers in my thumbs/fingers requiring lengthy treatment to resolve.

I have thought of just doing nothing, but that isn't an option because the breast will just turn into gangrene and the oncologist said it wouldn't kill me, but I would wish it did. Always the "up" person, I just don't have the energy to fight anymore, and yet the war has come to my doorstep.

I have been in and out of hospital since I was child for lupus, and the related complications, gangrene, sepsis, legionnaires, TB, etc from having a bad immune system. I am too tired to even fight my cause rn with managing work the best I can, and trying to just stay warm enough each day.

My peripheral veins are in bad state, causing gangrene and necessitating both self-amputation and surgical amputation. I've been on bosenton, tadalafil, and injections of cyclophosphamide 500 mg and mythhylprednisolone 500 mg every one month.

Recently he suffered with gangrene due to which his creatine levels are increasing..Now he is under dialysis whenever required.. We are planning kidney transplant.. We are in need of kidney.. So I want the details of websites in which we have to register for want of kidney..

If any one gives valuable suggestions.. I'm happy to hear

Had gangrene in 5 th toe at Christmas...long story. I have been on Apixaban since 2016 for very infrequent Atrial Fib( only had 2 episodes in 4 years) and wonder now whether ET set this off. I am now also on clopidergrel daily and Hydroxurea 1 gm/ alternating with 500mg.

I think from memory the specialist told him that worse case scenario could be severe pain gangrene and maybe amputation? Hubby thinks his drinking has absolutely nothing to do with his feet though

which surprisingly has been ok as I was told don’t do it Dr gave me the drug and sent me on my merry way which for me didn’t bode well but I got a meter and strips for the first time since dx I then googled this drug and freaked out and then I got a letter from my GP practice saying it can cause gangrene
