Doctor says husband's situation is rare
October 2022 my husband discovered a lump near his ear which turned out to be a tumor in his parotid gland. Grew very quickly in the 2 months before it was removed in December 2022. Biopsy proved it to be adenocarcinoma. Doctors said it was rare to find this type in the parotid gland. He had radiation

Might blood be good news?
I'm now getting ready for my 3rd Docetaxel infusion. My symptoms and side effects have been very mild. Before chemo started, I was getting pains in the rectal wall, sharp bladder discomfort and pain on urination - along with blood in the urine. As of today, I'm waiting for definitive results from

Calcium, confused
Yes, many posts on calcium, to take or not to take. Tall Allen has posted research results on the efficacy and stated that calcium supplements are not necessary if your levels are correct from a blood test.My level of calcium in 2021 was low in spite of using a Mediteranean diet and no supplements. Trying to get to retirement before HT
Hi All, I'm currently 65 years old. My PSA level before the biopsy was 8.1, and my Gleason Score was 4+4. Fortunately, there are no signs of metastases. Although my treatment hasn't started yet, it's likely that I'll begin radiation therapy in early December. I'm currently overseas and won't return

Thinking of Active Surveillance with 3+4
Received my results on Feb 28 that I had 1 core of 3+3, not worried about that one.... But I had two cores of 3+4, 1 core the gleason pattern 4 is 10% and the other core was gleason pattern 4 of 10-20%, these reading were from the City of Hope, which confirmed the original report from my first Dr.

Asking for best guess info
As I've written, my husband stopped all treatment this past July after Lupron/Xtandi were causing worsening SEs while PSA was doubling/tripling from undetectable. He's now receiving palliative care and just had his first comprehensive bloodwork since the MO's on June 30. At that time his PSA registered

Brother's numbers since ADT plus Orchiectomey since diagnosed in February
Hi folks. I've been reading daily posts here since February when my brother was diagnosed with metastatic PC in February after a reading of 367.8 PSA. Thanks for all the good information! Cancer is in his skull, ribs, lymth nodes, and spine. He had one ADT injection right away and opted for an Orchiectomey

Abdominal MRI
good morning. I’m curious for those who have had an MRI, did you have to take something for anxiety? My hep has suggested Valium but I prefer not to be loop legged.

Rp on july of 22 for gleason 3+4 with psa of 16. PT3b, pN1 with negative margins and 2 of 11 lymph nodes involved. I took a nomogram online and came out 75% likely for recurrence. My first psa post op was .02, then .03, .04, .04, .05 in late august- so I've crossed line #1. Which is a bummer but not

Psoriatic arthritis
Hi everyone. So, after a year and a half of worsening joint pain and numerous tests, a rheumatologist has diagnosed me with early psoriatic arthritis and prescribed methotrexate. My concern is that nothing whatsoever has ever shown up on any tests. ESR and CRP are low (lower than normal actually).
