Another hospital stay
Hi Everyone I'm on Seretide 250 (2 puffs twice a day) I got cold symptoms so added in Flixotide 250 (2 puffs twice a day) as well as added regular Salbutamol & Atrovent. I'm already on Montelukast and started Prednisolone and antibiotics on the advice of my GP. 2 days later I had to go to A & E twice

Starting to feel a lot better. Cough less frequently, slightly clearer sputum. Better and steady peak flow reading and feel really good. All I have to do now is get rid of my verruca and I will be on top of the world. Cryogenic clinic for that tomorrow so will be limping for a few days! Hope we

ITRACONAZOLE
Have now been taking this for nearly a week. Feel much better already. My cough is less frequent. My peak flow is fairly steady at 330/340. I have more energy and feel more alive than I have for a long while. Feel I have a purpose when I get up in the morning now. All I need to do is to get rid

Just after a bit of advice. I finished a 5 day course of prednisolone yesterday in the hope of bringing my newly diagnosed asthma under control. It did a great job after the 2nd or 3rd day bringing my peak flow up and steady and my blue inhaler usage down. The only thing is already my peak flow is dropping

Hope its the weather
Yesterday had a good day thought I was finally getting back to something near my normal. Been struggling all year. Had lot of prednisilone and antibiotics this last 3 months. Today I've been rubbish. Breathless tight chest feeling of suffocation in my throat. Peak flow reading just the same as its been

Am I falling apart
After eventually getting diagnosed with Hashimoto's my doctors have decided that, as my TSH isn't high enough to give me symptoms, I have Fibromyalgia which they want to put me on amitriptyline (unfortunately as one of my Ecg's came back with a slight problem they are waiting for advice from a cardiologist

Conflicted feelings
So I posted a whinge here last week after winding up in A&E so I apologise for doing it again! Was in A&E again today after ringing the gps surgery and being told just to go straight there. Usual straight into resus; bloods, X-rays, back to back Nebs, once the peak flow is nearer my higher score I

Blood Fleck in Sputum
Hi all, Just thought I would ask about this on here. A week or so ago I had a dry cough, generally after waking which made my throat quite sore. Once I was up and about my normal phlegmy cough came back. Maybe had this a couple or three days. When I coughed up phlegm on one of those days got a fleck

From very mild to uncontrolled asthma
Hi everyone I'm Sam. 27 years old and I've had asthma since I was a small boy. Only, I don't feel like I've had asthma at all up until this summer. Prior to that I could count the times I needed to use my blue inhaler in any given year on one hand, it was just something that didn't really effect me

Flare-ups recovery
i get ease of mind posting on this forum. The 1st sign of any major problems was one month ago, sadly on my birthday when I climbed up two flights of stairs and was struggling to breath and my heart was pounding. Shock me up horribly. that was the 27th August having said that I did notice my daily routines

Whinge
Been in A&E for the 5th time in 4 months this week. I'm so frustrated and now my consultant is just like "ah yes your asthma is poorly controlled even though you're on quite a lot of medication, I don't know what we can do about it though" then sent me home once my peak flow was a little higher which

Peak Flow Meters
Hi everyone, if you have been diagnosed with asthma, a peak flow meter could really prove to be your best friend. A peak flow meter is a simple yet extremely effective tool. Peak flow readings can help indicate any changes in your asthma and could help heaps in your management. Do ask your doctor for

Preeclampsia
Had to see the specialist midwife yesterday that deals with multiple birth. On top of sever hip pain and back pain and vomiting I now have preeclampsia. I am only 24 weeks and I have never been so eager to have babies. I can't sleep at all I do is cry due to pain. It's too much can some one speed up

I'm new
Hi there, I'm new to this site and to asthma, in fact I haven't actually been diagnosed. Sorry for the long post. I visited my gp a few months back after I was experiencing shortness of breath even when not really doing much. I also got the feeling that there was a tight band around my chest sometimes

Feeling meh!
Chest feels like I'm only using the top part tonight, peak flow is a bit reduced (400 from 570) so putting my feet up. Had a couple of puffs of ventolin but to be honest it hasn't helped a great deal ;-( Might need the day off work tomorrow ....my boss will not be happy!

Peak Flow down and back on Antibiotics.
Went to the Docs today just to ask if they had had a letter from UHSM. They had not - but then it is only 2 weeks. Saw a new Doc (in training) so he did peak flow and listened to lungs and was surprised how wheezy I was and my peak flow down 100 points! So back on the oxytetracycline 2 tablets 4 times

Asthma review
How long do you have to wait for one? Asked today, because Flutiform is doing sod all. Peak flow lower, if anything. First I could get, 22nd September. Oh well, will soldier on. 😀

Asthma and exercise
Hi, I have not had my peak flow reading done in 2-3 years so I am quite sure what it is now but last time, it was 200-250. I feel like my asthma has got worse since then as I become very out of breath and wheezy through a brisk walk, at home and today when I attempted to do a firm resistance dvd,

Newly diagnosed and Unsure of Myself
Hello I went to my doctor because I was having difficulty breathing and was not sure what it was. I was a bit worried as I've had breast cancer twice so was worried if it was something sinister. For this reason I hadn't been to the doctors for longer than I should but hope you may appreciate why. I'd
