Advice please
I'm a 59 year old "newbie" to COPD. Morbidly obese and dreadful trouble with breathing as I'm a chronic asthmatic and nearly died from pneumonia eight years ago. Tested for COPD very recently and put on Spiriva. In past eight weeks I've lost 48lbs but can now walk for 24 minutes at 2.5 miles an hour

Oxytetracycline
Went to the Doc a week ago as peak flow went down a gain after a week ion amoxicillin and 5 days on steroids. Saw a different Doc as had an emergency appointment. He took another spit pot to send away. Haven't had the results yet as going today to cryo clinic for verruca - ouch! Anyway was put on

Not happy this morning as my peak flow down yet lower. Saw Doc on Tuesday morning and we sent a sputum sample off. Yesterday was OK but did have a coughing fit in the late afternoon but recovers from that after shower and sit down. Woke in the night coughing but it didn't disturb my sleep too much

Should I wait or see Gp now?
I have got a cold and since this started my peak flow has dropped to around 70%. I have occasionally got a tight chest but ventolin helps relieve it. Should I wait an see how it goes, or given it takes forever to see the Gp, book something in just incase it gets worse?

Just a rant really!
Just need a rant really - I am currently really struggling as my asthma (allergy/hayfever triggered) has come back after stopping breastfeeding my third little monkey. I have gone from normal running around with no symptoms, minimal meds and a peak flow of 400 to spending 3 weeks with a peak flow of

Help there's a Heatwave!
Hi everyone, I am having a terrible time with my breathing in the hot weather at the moment. I am 44 years old and have had asthma for about 20 years - I take Salbutamol and Fostaire - which I have been on for over 15 years. The Fostaire replaced the one I used to take I think it was called Flixotide

Chest infection developed?
Well I ended up on the pred, quite a high sliding dose for the next month ( along with all the other usual meds for hay fever/asthma).after initially finding a big improvement peak flow back up, hardly any use of the blue inhaler, I have had a desperately bad night & now feel there is an elephant sat

Can bronchitis cause asthma?
Last Christmas, i had a nasty virus which developed into bronchitis. I was prescribed antibiotics, steroids and given a blue inhaler. The GP also referred me to the Asthma nurse at the practice. She gave me a brown preventative inhaler. Last week i had a spirometry test which was normal and my peak flow

I have just spent one week in Hospital, I have been given this new inhaler, has anyone else tried it ?? I am completely exhausted and the least thing makes me so breathless. Peak flow is 200 , I have plenty of Oxygen but only 50 per cent of my lungs work. At 74 I am getting quite despondent , I feel

Is it normal? Productive asthma cough?
I have suffered from asthma since I was 16, probably actually before that but I just wasn't diagnosed until I was 16. It was exercise induced originally, became hayfever induced at about 20 and then August last year I developed a chesty cough that didn't go away and I found it difficult to catch my breath

Worried, rude doctor, anxiety?
Hi, felt I had to post here today as I could really do with some advice. Newbie struggling
Hi, I'm new and, as the title suggests, struggling. I first remember experiencing breathlessness as a late teen and it has gradually gotten worse over the years. I would get a right chest and struggle to get deep breaths but no coughing or wheezing. I was first diadiagnosed 3 years ago after a particularly

Hi there, haven't been on here for some time so hi all again! So I've been essentially symptom free for some time now and have stepped down medication to just 1 puff a day of seretide 50. I've been on this for a few months now and still had no trouble which is great. The past few days however I've

Is it just me? Asthma and anxiety
It may be that my GP and a&e are fed up with me or that (as I suspect) one particular cons has had a negative impact on my treatment but I am fed up with not being taken seriously for my now almost official 'difficult asthma.' I've had a fairly good run recently asthma wise (after last year's admissions
