For an appointment for the asthma clinic it usually six weeks wait for me, but if I need to see someone I just Make a routine doctors appointment, these things can't wait.

Yes I'd echo that, book a regular GP appointment if you can :)

You do not have to wait for a review. If you are at all concerned about how well your asthma control is ......ring asap to see your GP. You know how you feel, don't wait if you are not happy.

To get my own GP ie the one that actually reads your notes, takes about three weeks wait. He's very popular. To get anyone else, you have to phone at 8.30. Once you get through - can take anything between 10 and 30 redials before the engaged tone becomes a ring that will be answered. Then you have to persuade the receptionist that it is indeed an emergency.

I second this! Except it's 8am with ours to be connected to an automated system.

My latest technique had been to tthe go round there and stand in front of the receptionist until the system goes live at eight, they have no choice but to give you an appointment.

Alternatively I've just registered to use my surgery so online system, it's brilliant as well as being able to prebook appointments, they release 3, day 2 day and same day appointments at midnight and then you also have access to emergency same day appointments from 8am. Would def recommend registering if your surgery offer this.

Have you managed to see anyone yet ?

I presume we are all mainly UK Patients - as against some good but mixed sites dominated by USA Patients and there complicated treatment v insurance restrictions

But I'm afraid you are right - it can be so stressful trying just to get an important appointment

Really poor and getting worse
