injections tomorrow. This drug can reduce testosterone 88% in 24 hrs.94% in 3 days...ànd some have reported their T will not recover for 2-3 months after an injection.

My father’s supplements
He is also on
Firmagon
. His doctor said nothing but I’m starting to see this forum as my valuable second opinion (If anything is dangerous, please send a link to a study I can show him). Should add: I know my father’s motto is “as long as it doesn’t do any harm” (which I think is just fine!!

Had Radiation and adjuvant ADT for 16 months now what?
The doctor wants me to continue on
Firmagon
for 24 months after the IMRT as a high risk case. It seems to be the SOC for high risk cases. I have been very regular in walking and exercising including some light weights.

Can high ALP indicate therapy before bone mets are confirmed?
I am on
Firmagon
/degarelix + Bicalutamid now. Any thoughts on whether additional treatment is warranted now, to be proactive, even though the mets are not 100 % confirmed? I understand bone mets should be hit heavy and early, but is it wrong to do so before they are fully confirmed?

Monthly co-pay costs for Firmagon/Degarelix shots on Medicare Advantage vs Regular Medicare USA?
I start monthly
Firmagon
injections (2-3 years estimated) next week and my Medicare advantage program just informed me that the monthly co-pay for this drug will be $429 ($5148/year).

Salvage Radiation
I’ve explained how badly I reacted to ADT 4 years ago when I received a single
Firmagon
shot, which is why this is a consideration. I’ve been researching to try and find out exactly what to expect during my first simulation or preparation, and the following 45 days of radiation.

Is Xofigo a good option for extensive skeletal mets?
My MO did not mention it and just wants to keep me on
Firmagon
and see how things go. Any thoughts?

IMRT delay? Significant?
I am presently in my 2nd month of ADT (
Firmagon
), and as a result after 1st month my PSA went from .16 to <.01 (undetectable) and T from 128 to 19.

Developments since July 2020
However they have recommended that Instead of Monthly Dose of Degarelix (
Firmagon
), I may switch to Lupron 22.5 mg , as a once in three months dose. May I seek your comments on this please. 😀

Bicalutamide or not?
Firmagon
, then Lupron, then chemo, on going Lupron until Jan. 2020. Decided I'd try to quit the Lupron for a bit... Well, the "Lupron vacation" is apparently over. Last shot [3-month) was in Jan. PSA continued to drop.

Auximen scan shows significant new cancerous activity and last post about my brother
At the moment, I consider this a warm escalation of cancerous growth that needs a prompt response since the Zytiga,
Firmagon
, Dexamethasone, treatment is failing. While I would like to have gotten more than 17 months, this is not a surprising development.

Follow-up scan and other stuff
Not surprising given that I have been getting monthly
Firmagon
injections. It also showed that pelvic lymph nodes are smaller. I guess I was hoping for more change. Maybe I have accept small positive changes as wins. The Met on my skull worries me as does the spinal mets. It is my entire spine.

High Gleason low PSA - quit ADT?
Poster Besides having EBRT and brachotherapy, I am on ADT (
Firmagon
and Bicalutamid). Given the above apparently negative impact of ADT, does anyone have any idea whether I should consider replacing or complementing my ADT with systemic therapy?

Antidepressants
My father, currently taking
Firmagon
, is so depressed that he wants to start antidepressants. We were thinking perhaps Sertraline? Any insights or thoughts?

Leg cramps in the morning
I am thinking this could be from the
Firmagon
or the chemo treatments. Anyone experience this? If so is there a supplement to help with this?

Progress
Yesterday, I had my 5th chemo with Docetaxel and my 4th
Firmagon
treatment. My PSA has dropped to 0.9 and my AP is 113. I have no pain. I have one more treatment and another set of scans in 3 weeks. So far so good! I will take what I can get.

PSA hit double digits, business is better, it is hospice for my brother, and I had a 2 hour and 10-minute elliptical session. 10.6 miles.
I take Zytiga (generic) with Dexamethasone and get monthly
Firmagon
shots for ADT. In any event, my current oncologist doesn’t really believe in the Auximen scan, but I have three previous years of this particular scan as reference points. So I think that is what he will recommend.
