I was diagnosed in late May with stage metastatic with extensive mets in my skeleton. My PSA was 819 and my alkaline phosphatase was 1300 or so. Yesterday, I had my 5th chemo with Docetaxel and my 4th Firmagon treatment. My PSA has dropped to 0.9 and my AP is 113. I have no pain. I have one more treatment and another set of scans in 3 weeks. So far so good! I will take what I can get.

Great, ask your doc to get insights into the scans, or else you'll get a templated report: "Osteoblastic findings which may appear to be from metastasis...".

Such dramatic decline in PSA and ALP usually indicates longer life span. Good Luck.

Kept playing that Pianodude!👏🏼👏🏼

I also had a good response to Docataxal just finished radiotherapy to the prostrate

Seing my Oncologist on the 27 Oct

Hoping for a low PSA and a significant and effective outcome

My PSA was 13.5 when diagnosed it was 1.54 after chemo

We must keep going

I believe somehow in my time they will discover a drug that will make PC a disease we can live with untill the end of our natural date

Great News!! How was the chemo. How did you decide on firmagon??

The chemo has given me very few side effects so far. I get tired for a couple of days including the day of treatment. I noticed a metallic taste in my mouth the last treatment. A little hair loss. My MO decided on Firmagon because my PSA was so high. He didn't want the bounce that is common with Lupron. He actually has wanted me to switch to Lupron now. I may be a little superstitious, but the Firmagon is working, so I don't want to switch.

in reply toPianodude

Superstition is OK with this disease. Is Firmagon an injection? I have had the beast for 18 years. Long story-been very lucky-lupron the last 18 months but now my psa is starting to rise - 2.5- so need to add something - chemo, Xtandi or Zitaga.

How many chemo doses have you had????

Keep up the success.
