Follow-up scan and other stuff

I was supposed to have my 6th and last Docetaxel infusion today. It was canceled because of my neuropathy in my feet which recently was getting worse. I also had a bone scan and pelvic CT scan last Thursday. I got the reports today. Slight shrinkage in a couple bones. For the most part not much change in the bone scan. No change in the spine. No new uptakes.

CT scan showed that my prostate had shrank. Not surprising given that I have been getting monthly Firmagon injections. It also showed that pelvic lymph nodes are smaller.

I guess I was hoping for more change. Maybe I have accept small positive changes as wins. The Met on my skull worries me as does the spinal mets. It is my entire spine. Any thoughts.

Have you discussed Xofigo and Provenge?

I just asked what our next steps might be during the appointment. He said that if my PSA went back up, we might consider Provenge. My PSA is down to 0.6 from 829 in early June. I was hoping for a comparable reduction in Mets. I guess that was overly optimistic.

Remember, there is more going on than what you can see on any scan. There may have been reductions in your micromets, and your metastases may have reduced activity.
