B12 or something else?
Hi About 2-3 years ago, during lockdown when it was difficult/impossible to see a GP, I started taking B12 supplements 3-4 times weekly. Whilst not wanting to diagnose myself, I felt I had little choice given the GP situation, plus my daughters are B12 deficient, and had the same symptoms as myself

Help on blood test results
Can anyone on here advise on these results? Does this mean I 100% don't have lupus? đ€đŒOr are there different types of lupus that I havnt been tested for?

Thank you and latest blood results
Thank you for sharing your experiences with Ruxolitinib. I have now completed 4 weeks on Rux, 20 mg twice a day for PMF intermediate 2. My bloods, already low and out of range before I started, have dropped considerable. Today platelets were 51 and neutrophils 1.5. 10 out of 14 of the complete blood

Learning about my condition!
Hi all, apologies if this sounds silly but what is the difference between Hashimotos and Hypothyroidism? I got diagnosed with an under-active thyroid when I was a pre-teen and have just been taking levothyroxine. I do blood tests annually, but I was recently advised by a friend that the blood test should

Stopping B vits before test
Just checking, I'm now taking separate B12 drops as well as a B complex - I'm ok to keep taking these drops up until the day before a blood test aren't I? Am I right in thinking it's just supplements containing biotin (ie the B complex in my case) you should stop a week before?

Low saturation with PV and Jakavi 20
I have had PV since two years. Rux started december '23. Good results with HB and HCT. HB is pretty low now 7.7 for a while. My weight has increased 10% wit the same diet. My saturation is, in rest 92, with effort I can raise it to 93/94. Long test last week revealed a very good lung condition (5,7

Update and about to start Radiation
Hi all - just a summary so far. Have been doing the triplet and recently finished the 6 sessions of chemo. Had my CT and Bone scans and then follow up with MO on Friday. All is as we expect - nothing shown in CT. Bone scan shows no new "uptake" in the mets places and nothing new. PSA at .41. I am

What can I do to stop getting colds and flus all the time?
Hi. I've been on IM B12 for about a year now and all symptoms have improved and I'm generally doing really well. I suspect B1 deficiency (improvement with oral supplementation) was present and I corrected D deficiency. I have hashimotos thyroiditis and am stable on medication. I still get colds and flus

Has anyone had this? Desperate for answers
for about 2 months now I can feel my thyroid is swollen - I had blood tests by doctors and confirmed that my hormone levels are normal and thyroid is functioning. I then had an ultra sound which said that my thyroid was âdiffuesly enlargedâ and that I also had âtiny cystsâ I have now been referred

Poole Conference 14 March 2024
Theme Navigating Treatment Pathways beyond Chemotherapy. I am on watch and wait and fairly new to this site. I attended the conference to get a better insight into treatments available. As we all know we are all different and different treatments suit different people. I found it very informative

What to do when denosumab course ends?
I have been on denosumab injections since July 2019, so the injection that I am to have next month will probably be my last. During this time I have not had a Dexa scan at all. I am under "shared care" between my GP and the hospital, which is in practice a complete joke, as I have to dairy it, order

Anxiety v Asthma
Hi I visited my GP who prescribed Prednisone a week ago as she thought I had a viral infection. My only Asthma symptom has always been a tight chest, but as this has been ongoing for a fortnight despite the Pred my anxiety has gone through the roof because this isnât my norm with regards to Asthma!

Over range copper and zinc
The only culprit I can think of is milk thistle. Any thoughts on over range copper and zinc? About a 10 months ago, zinc was low-ish and copper slightly over so I supplemented zinc for a short while but stopped a couple of months ago. Then the week before last started with milk thistle for liver support

Cholesterol
Hello all, Following a recent blood test, I've received a message from my GP saying my cholesterol is a bit high and advising lifestyle changes and offering statins. I'm currently researching statins trying to make an informed decision. I read that they are advised for CVD. I have a leaking Mitral valve
