ferritin blood test-CRP-hs

i asked my endo for ferritin blood work along with CRP- hs

She wants to know why i am requesting CRP test, also crp is not covered by the insurance.

How do i explain?

Because CRP is an inflammation marker. And if you have high levels of inflammation it can falsely raise ferritin levels. So, to know if your ferritin result is correct, you need to see your CRP level. Wow! She should know that!
