Has quitting smoking and not eating sugar and salt snacks fixed my High Blood pressure?
Hi, I am a 50 year old male. I have been on ramipril 5mg for 7 years. I quit smoking a year ago, and I recently stopped eating any sugar or salt snacks. I have noticed my BP has been been alot lower as of late , such as 116/64 to 128/74. The other thing I have noticed is my Heart rate seems to have gone

Diabetes and ramipril
Is it ok to take ramipril (for high bp) if you have diabetes type 2? The literature with the medicine suggests not ok.

Chest pain
I hope you don’t think this is a really silly question but for my chest pain I use the GTN spray on top of all the meds, here comes the silly bit..... I know you need to go to hospital after a few sprays of GTN but I thought I saw a post on here that a hot water bottle can help with the pain, so would

Post hospital visit
Hi, thanks for those that helped me through the last week. Trip to hospital for 5 days investigations. ECGs and Bloods fine. February 2019 when I had 2 stents fitted to 1 artery I was told I had issues with 2 more arteries with lesions. Turns out each were 60% blocked. I didn't have an angiogram this

Lercanidipine - anyone have any experience with it?
Have just been taken off amlodipine because of swelling of the ankles/lower leg, setting the area on the leg damaged by cellulitis off and swelling in two fingers. Doc has put me on Lercanidipine to lower my bp. Am also on Apixaban. It was on this forum that I read about these side effects with amlodipine

Amlodipine and being under 40... healthy to high BP in 1 month
Hi all, a month ago I had heart palpitations and was admitted to hospital with 200/170. Always been reasonably healthy but covid had made my sluggish although continued to eat well. I was put on 10mg straight away, same time I decided to cut out all caffeine, sugars and salts and lost 15kg in process

Irregular heart rate with Amlodipine
Dr. changed my medication from Losartan HCTZ because of too many negative side effects. Now taking 5mg Amlodipine for past several weeks. Since starting Amlodipine have been getting occasional readings of irregular heart rate when I take my blood pressure - I can feel them, as well as palpitations.

Chinese food ingredients
So the first time I was diagnosed of high blood pressure I had eating Chinese food I experienced pain in my chest. I ignored it first time and went and ate the same food about three times I'll experience chest pain. So I finally said it has to be something in the food. So my NP puts me on Amlodipine

Anybody ever get 'strange' chest sensations that aren't afib?
As an afib diagnosee and somebody who had an ablation back in 2017, I'm all too aware of the wonderful things afib and heart irritation can bring. But sometimes things occur that are not the usual and are sometimes odd and just, well... plain terrifying. Got to work this morning, after about 45 minutes

Excessive Ectopics?
Hi all, any advice on this from you lovely people? Had ablation end of January and I've been recovering well until yesterday, just a few short runs of Af, less than a minute, no ectopics. Early on Saturday morning i started getting lots of ectopics, mostly 2 normal beats then a pause or 2 normal beats

Changing medication.
I have been on Amlodipine for 2 months and suffered with lots of side effects. The GP has now stopped it and prescribed Ramipril. How has anyone else got on with Ramipril?

Increase in Ramipril. Raised BP
My GP has changed my medication from 2.5mg to 5mg ramipril. I’ve been in increased dose for 4 days now. I’m already taking amlodopine 5mg. Today I’ve had severe headaches and now checking my BP the reading is 192/101. Heart rate 83. Has anyone had similar experiences with this change of meds?

Feeling trapped
After suffering chest pains that now appear to be completely un heart related I spent a couple of nights in hospital with 1 night in cardio care whilst they did tests ... they came back with a heart flutter that I've had for years (when I deep sleep on my back) and have decided to medicate me on this

Felodipine and chest pain
I’m 52 and had been taking Losartan 10 umg for around 10 years. Six months ago my doctor wanted me to start 2.5 mg Felodipine as well due to high BP. Since then I started to feel chest pain. Now complained to the doctor about increased chest pain on the phone as no surgery is open. I was told to leave
