I have got a petechia rash for the second time in a few weeks the rash tends to fade but the bruises it leaves seem worse GPs does not want to do repeat bloods yet re covid as I have copd and autoimmune and raised liver enzymes I didn't have any of this apart from copd prior to being diagnosed with a fib in Dec am taking Apixiban 2 X 2.5 daily and Bisoprolol 2.5 daily I also take amlodipine 5mg and Atorvastatin 10mg I read that any of this meds an cause this but Apixiban probably the one I was due for repeat blood tests before lockdown will this continue to worsen getting anxious and could it cause more problems if left undiagnosed cause or could i be low on vitamins so confused wonder what I could do to help improve this your thoughts please ☹️

No my bloods were done weeks prior to lockdown and a repeat test and ultra sound were scheduled but came through after lockdown and were postponed as was appointment with liver consultant re raised liver enzymes but apparently this showed up on previous blood test I have had no other symptoms the gp thinks it due to the heart meds I was put on in Dec as I have had other side effects side effects they think it's a combination of two of them so on wed I am having bloods done at isolation room at gps bit worried as it will be 1st time I've left house since before lockdown

Hi there,

I’m sure this is the rash I had when I started taking Bisoprolol. Is it red/purple and looks like ribbons of little dots? I had it on my stomach. I’ve had it for about 9 months...just fading now.

I didn’t link it to the Bisoprolol but then read about it somewhere.

Hello ticktoc, like you I have had petechia around and above my ankles, no one seemed to know what it was, looked unsightly and being female did not want my legs on show.

The only response I got was that it could be caused by warfarin.

However after coming out of hospital for a fractured hip my doc visited because my calve was hard to touch and had a different red red rash above the ankle, was prescribed a very strong antibiotic which cured all have not had the rash back, but has left some patchy light brown marks which are of no consequence. Nobody seemed at all concerned so don’t worry too much.
