Etoposide
Started the
Etoposide
tablet tonight, has to be taken everyday until onc says stop, he says hopefully for four months then a CT scan to see how things are going, have reviews every 3 weeks with blood tests. Here's hoping that it does its job and controls things.

Etoposide
Has anyone experienced bad side effects with
Etoposide
tablets? I'm on stand alone treatment now as the Cisplatin infusion part of the Rotterdam treatment caused my ascites to build up massively (9 litres drained two day later).

Any new drug treatments I can ask the doctor about? Running low on options
She has had the following treatments: Avastin/paclitaxel/carboplatin (i think that's what it was first line) Weekly taxol Cisplatin/
etoposide
(she got 6 months from this) She is now on weekly Gemcitabine The doctor said we are running lower on options now and it is quite aggressive that it becomes resistant

Tough week
They've stopped my tablet form of chemo (
Etoposide
) until I see my onc next Friday and to make sure I'm over the infection. I'm hoping for a much calmer weekend now, taking it easy and just making sure I'm fighting fit again. Wishing you all the very best Xx

Has anyone been on Cisplatin (with/without Etoposide)?
I've had this cancer 5 years) Cisplatin with
Etoposide
tablets but regime sounds ghastly - 3 consecutive weeks of IV chemo plus the tablets, with only one week for the body to recover. She warned of very bad nausea, possible blood transfusions, hair loss etc.

Etoposide
I've had my results from 18 weeks of weekly Taxol today, I've had a partial response, some spots have reduced, some have stayed the same and some have increased slightly, I am now going to start tablet form chemotherapy "
Etoposide
", to control things. Has anyone been on this drug before?

Treatment in the UK
I was diagnosed with limited SCLC on my 44th Birthday in January this year - 4 rounds of cysplatin and
etoposide
, with 25 x radiation sessions running concurrently for the last two chemo rounds. I then went on and had ten sessions of PCI as a preventative for mets to the brain.

Update
UCH suggested Cisplatin and
Etoposide
as the next step, but my oncologist says I'm not strong enough to take it, and I have to admit I'm relieved, as it did sound daunting.

Carboplatin & Etoposide treatment - small cell lung cancer
He has Carboplatin &
Etoposide
. He has been told that this treatment is palliative and for symptomatic relief only, but that this type of tumour does respond well to chemo.

Painful Journey ...Still looking for a hope
Dignosed on Oct. 2013, Peritoneal/abdominal might be ovary origin, metastatic papillary serous carcinoma...the last 12 months finished 3 kind of chemo Carbo & Taxol, Doxil as well as
etoposide
. Last CT showed few/small progression here and there with no sign of remission at all.

egg freezing with one ovary
Now chemo in 2 weeks with cisplatin and
etoposide
. I looked into egg freezing and the risks are that the needle could damage something and the cancer (microscopic cells are left, hence the chemo) could spread further into the pelvis.

Chemo treat. VS without “life quality” ?
Stage 4 OC and nodules all over the abdominal & in the last 12 months, I have tried three different of Chemo (almost believ I am a chemo refractory) & the worst from the side effects is the last chemo (
Etoposide
-daily tablet).

The dilemma which I go through? Is it cancer or chemo related? I have a peritoneal/abdominal wall/ ovary cancer stage iv
Currently I am taken
Etoposide
and latest CT confirm not big response but no progression. I am so tired, but the million $ question? What I am facing now? Is it because of the chemo or the cancer? Because I am thinking to quit the chemo?
