Hi Karen I am sorry things didnt work out as hoped for with Etopside. I feel that some of the ladies on here have been on Tamoxen and hopefully you will get some feed back. It isnt nice to have a reaction to chemo. Sending you a big hug best wishes

Hi Karen, I was on Tamoxifen for 7 years following my initial breast cancer diagnosis. I experienced no side effects and had a normal quality of life. I hope you enjoy the same success with Tamoxifen , cheers Judy

Hi Karen

I've been taking Tamoxifen since January 2016. I have primary peritoneal cancer and when I finished chemo last December there were still small cancers remaining. It's working well so far for me - I feel fine, only side effects have been some initial joint pain which didn't last and lots of hot flushes which are annoying but (for me) bearable. I do get tired easily, but that could be a result of the chemotherapy I think. At my last scan the oncologist said the cancers had got smaller, which was even better than we were hoping for, as the expectation was that Tamoxifen might maintain the status quo. Hope it works well for you too.

Hi Karen, I have PPC, being treated the same way as Ovarian cancer. Last year, I was on Tamoxifen and it kept the cancer at bay for about six months, when I went back to chemo. I had no side effects, except hot flushes, sometimes, which was great. Hope it works for you - all the best, Eileen x

Hi Eileen thanks for replying, that sounds good, i have been warned about the hot flushes but I get them anyway, I'd be pleased if it worked for me for 6 months thanks again.

Best wishes xx

Hi i have been taking tamoxifen for nearly a year. I do get hot flushes. My ca125 has started to go up now so waiting for result of ct scan. I took 1 tablet but i believe some doctors px 2.

in reply toantheamary

Yes my oncologist has px 2 for me, so I'm hoping the side effects will be minimum, i must admit I'm hoping at least a few months, wishing you best wishes for your results xx
