Hi. so I don't think I'll ever feel better at this point but I'm still going to try as much as I can. I still have symptoms but not AS BAD as it used to be. I honestly don't have a proper set of words to put out here as to what I'm trying to ask but here's my blood report from May 11. The following blood

Nicotine anyone still using it for PD?
Reading the current link "nicotine-reduces-levodopa-induced-dyskinesias-in-lesioned-monkeys' Made me think does anybody still use nicotine patches, gum or vaping to try and slow progression of their PD. I tried patches when first diagnosed but quit after 3 months when a leaky patch nearly finished me

ADT & Overall Mortality in Prostate Brachytherapy Patients With Low Pretreatment Testosterone.
New study below [1]. {It has been recognize for a while that men with PCa tend to have lower testosterone [T] at diagnosis compared to matched men without PCa, & that men with the lowest T have a poorer prognosis.} "To evaluate whether the use of androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) in prostate brachytherapy

Would love some advice re today's blood test results - TSH, MTHFR, Vit D & B12, Ferritin & hormones
Hi everyone - last year I had a thyroid biopsy (as I have a multinodular goitre) and a heap of blood tests as I had been feeling pretty rotten and was sure it was more than just menopause (I'm 54). The biopsy was clear (yay!) but the blood tests showed that I had very low Vitamin D and B12 and high TgAb

High oestradiol
As you may know I've been having private tests as my GP is useless. My full thyroid panel was normal, surprisingly. Apart from my B12 and folate always being on the lower end despite supplementing... My cortisol was also low, had an SST yesterday and waiting on those results. My Medichecks hormone panel

Advice on Brother - Endocrinology Related
Hi, I wanted to get your thoughts on my brother's labs and symptoms, he's a young 17 year old. I didn't know where else to post this. It has been frustrating trying to figure out what is going on with his health which is slowly getting worse. He will be seeing his endocrinologist in a couple weeks though

New diagnosis found. Probable secondary hypothyroidism. Partial hypopituitarism. Normal Pituitary MRI. ? second opinion. Further tests?
Following a move to a different county I found my T3 prescription was cancelled before GP records transferred. So on T4 only From December 2017. I was referred to new Endocrinologist. My records and tests results were reviewed and found to be unusual. All blood tests taken at 9am fasting with 24 hour

Hello I was lucky enough to have a consultation with Dr Peatfield last week. He suggested, given my history, that I was likeley born with a thryoid issue that's gone undetected for 46yrs. He suggested that the many miscarriages and other pregnancy complications was the result of this. After an operation

Blood test results confusing?
Hi all, No diagnosis yet, still being checked. I'm waiting to see the doctor at the end of the month but my results were as follows. Can anyone understand what they mean? Based on my (irregular) periods, I should have been in the Mid-cycle range. So I have low FSH, low LH and high Oestrodil?? I am

Testosterone metabolites inhibit proliferation of castration- and therapy-resistant PCa.
New German paper [1]. I mention elsewhere how in normal prostatic cells, the presence of growth-stimulating dihydrotestosterone [DHT] induces an enzyme for its rapid clearance, & that a DHT metabolite - 3beta-adiol - is the natural ligand for an estrogen (!) receptor, ERbeta. ERbeta is the estrogen receptor
