My birth 30.06.2013
To which I'd had enough and asked for an
epidural
. The thought of another twelve hours with the pain was terrible. And
epidural
was the best thing I've ever decided to do.

Still not sinking in I'm a mummy!
I decided I wanted an
epidural
as I was really struggling. The anaesthetist came and there was a bit of drama over him actually giving it to me as I broke my back 9 years ago.

Anyone else have a Behcet's body that attacks everything it comes into contact with, besides just itself?
Well they ended up letting a medical student do the procedure, and he did something wrong during it--- I felt the most horrid pain I have ever felt (it was even worse than the pain I felt after waking up from the surgery, with no
epidural
numbing my abdomen!)

My birth story 40+15
I wasn't allowed to try pushing until 8:30 as they wanted to ensure I remained fully dilated and I had my last
epidural
top up at 7pm and no more.

Do epidural injections work for nerve pain?
I have been on high doses of morphine since the surgery, also pregabalin, but nothing touches the pain so I am shortly going to have an
epidural
to see if this helps.

The birth of my second baby.
I was in so much pain with little progression that I ended up having the
epidural
and my son was born by forcept delivery after an episiotamy (being cut)on the Wednesday at 8:50am.

Diamorphine or epidural?
I've got 4 weeks to go now and I can't decide whether to use diamorphine or
epidural
I will definitely start with gas and air though. I know pros and cons of both methods but its my first baby so am a bit undecided?has any mums on here used both in the past ?which one would you recommend ?x

Spinal Epidural for back pain
I haven't got all the details yet but assume it's an
epidural
..? I am in two minds about this as it seems really invasive, is only a short term solution and can have many side effects?

General Anesthetics
Problem is, I'm completely terrified of the idea of both the
epidural
and being awake during this. When my mum was having me, her
epidural
was inserted into the wrong place and she was pretty much paralysed for 3 weeks.

Any benefit from oxygen
Because of her age, 84, she was given an
epidural
for the procedure . Back on the ward she had an oxygen mask on for about 6 hours and we noticed a big improvement with her speech. Wondering if anyone else has noticed any difference with extra oxygen. Could it help?

Has anyone considered an elective c-section?
A very good friend of mine who had a natural birth recently had a really awful experience: she was told it was too late for her to have an
epidural
, she had a horrendously painful time, and then afterwards learned that the damage done to her pelvic floor muscles during labour was probably irreparable

What do you think causes lupus? just curious about your own personal view...
or/and also because it affects more women...i wonder if there is a link to childbirth
epidural
or medication that brings it on while your hormones are unbalanced, and last but not least and/or even chemicals of some sort in food/soil/water. Looking forward to hear from you :)

Burning heels - like they are actually resting above hot flames or resting on hot read charcoals.
I elected to have an
epidural
with sedation vs. general anesthesia. Beginning @1:00 a.m. I was up for the night, screaming in pain, because "my heels were on fire". Nurses adjusted the compression socks, wrapped my heels in ice etc. Nothing helped.
