End in sight for Lupron Brain Fog
(Chemo Brain Fog has the same symptoms) Closing: I made a deal with my Urologist to suspend the
Eligard
and monitor my PSA. God willing the side-effects will subside and the PSA will behave so I can look back at this nightmare as a victory.

Genetic testing-how useful is it?
I expect that after I become castrate resistant from my current therapy (6-7 months now of
Eligard
, Zytiga, Prednisone and Xgeva) I will need to consider a PARP inhibitor such as Olaparib or Rucaparib. On Nov 14 had robotic prostatectomy as part of SIMCAP clinical trial.

Hot flashes with hormone treatment -- a humorous poem about this!
I am currently getting
Eligard
injections, which cause hot flashes. For those who are also getting hot flashes, you will relate to this poem I wrote about them! A little humor helps soften the severity of what we all face.

New -- a little over a year after surgery, 6 mos after radiation
I had radiation to the prostate bed last April (2018), and have about another 6-8 mos of
Eligard
injections and Casodex. I feel GREAT, except for hot flashes, which are getting a little better. My PSAs are now undetectable. Here's a poem I wrote about hot flashes.

Prolia Experience
I've been on
Eligard
for four years and have developed osteoporosis and osteopenia. My urologist and MO had recommended that I take Prolia treat the one density issues. I have read a lot of negative comments on the internet concerning the serious side effects of the medication.

Is my husbands treatment working?
He was then put on a 3 month depot shot of
Eligard
. After another month, his PSA was at 255. Zytiga was added a week later and his PSA was taken 2 weeks later and was at 237. It doesn’t feel like it’s going down fast enough.

Xtandi for castrate resistant PC
I was on Firagon,
Eligard
, and briefly Casodex for 20 months before becoming resistant. PSA is still relatively low at just under 2, but doubling time is fast at about 6 weeks. Has anyone that is castrate resistant had good results with Xtandi? Thanks

Recovering from robotic prostatectomy; pathology results
Continuing on ADT ( Zytiga, Prednisone,
Eligard
, Xgeva ) post surgery. Catheter removed on Nov 21, one day before Thanksgiving. Getting used to dealing with incontinence. Not too bad. Getting better every day, slowly but surely.

Follow up
His treatment now is an
eligard
injection every 3 months. Our doc at mdandersen will get blood that we will send in a mailer every 3 months. Unless changes in psa two times in a row we do not go back to Houston. I am concerned that is not enough to just track psa.

Castration resistant after 20 months on ADT
I immediately started ADT with
Eligard
and Firmagon injections and a short stint on Casodex pills. PSA immediately dropped, but never stabilized, and bounced around from a low of .05 to 2.95. Now after 20 months on ADT, I have become castrate resistant with a PSA doubling time of 6 weeks.

Bone Pains
He is taking Zytiga+Pred,
Eligard
(every 3mos) and Xgeva (monthly) and latest PSA is 1.44 from 33 prior to treatment (5mos ago). Are these pains from bone mets or SE of meds? Im not really sure. But he does stationary biking 4x a wk, swimming 2x a wk, some walking.

IMRT side effects?
After a one month trial on Firmagon, switched to
Eligard
. Good so far; better with latter than former. Supposed to start IMRT in a couple of wks. 25 sessions. Followed by brachytherapy. Reactions to these procedures? Dos? Don'ts. Short term side effects? Long term?
