Foot pain
I am
eligard
for the third time as the cancer has spread. I have experinced pain in several of my joints. Started in the left big toe, Just after it died down I had a flare up in my left heel. That subsided after prednisone. Then my right knee swelled up. More prednisone.

Lower doses of Lupron?
Just had my first 3-month shot of
Eligard
(regular U.S. dose, 22.5 mg). I'm writing to cancer centers in Europe (ESMO, EMA), plus global programs of U.S. outfits. But you guys are a lot smarter than I am about having -- and getting -- info.

ADT and daily carb intake for weight training
Being just a month into firmagon, ( after my failed 3 month
eligard
shot) I believe the melting factor is due to the diet, more than ADT because I am always in the gym. Or sadly both. I do a pull, push, legs, rest routine, that keeps me in the gym 6 days a week.

My FIRST Lu-177 infusion !!
I have also been asked to completely discontinue Abiraterone and
Eligard
at least until the Lu-177 treatment is completed. Is this what you guys have also been asked to do ? My treatment is being done in Bombay and everything went very well, better than expected :-) Please do reply.

Brachytherapy
C, the RO i have has recommended i do ADT [six month shot of
eligard
] with brachytherapy along with ADT, because my PSA shot up to 18.67. but six days later, my PSA went down to 14.81. so, i'm thinking for sure the spike in PSA was due to possible prostatitis and not PCa. so, this is a reason i want

Most likely positive for genetic mutation and AR-V7
Currently on zytiga, dexa, xgeva,
eligard
. Soon to start with docetaxel 6 cycles. The MO here said he is most likely certain that my husband (Dondee) will come out positive for genetic mutation (BRCA2) due to his young age at diagnosis and early failure on zytiga (7months).

My dads stage 4 castrate resistant prostate cancer diagnosis
I had him started on
eligard
and some other strong hormonal shots while we got some more CT's done. The CTs showed that his prostate cancer had moved to the omentum (peritoneal area) several mesenteric nodules appeared.

Rising psa
Casodex 18 months now xtandi,
eligard
, and xgeva for over 18 months. His PSA went to <.01 almost immediately but now for the last 6 months has risen by .1 each month. It is now .7. The MO doesn’t seem to be concerned and said we would address it if it gets to 2.

13 Months went well...
My first and only line of treatments thus far are: Zytiga,Prednisone, six month
Eligard
, and monthly Xgeva for bone Mets. Probably Provenge in the near future but Doc says I'm responding so well let's just stay the course for now. I hope you all have a fantastic Summer and remember.

Trelstar?
I've used Firmagon and
Eligard
and have certainly heard of Lupron...but my Uro never once mentioned Trelstar. I see now that Trelstar is an LHRH agonist drug like Lupron and I know that Firmagon is a gonadotrophin-releasing hormone (GnRH) antagonist. All work to lower T levels.

What else should we be doing
Now, treatments is
eligard
every 3 months. In May we went to mdandersen. We felt better about the doc there. So we really have two docs but the one at mdandersen is our primary oncologist. We send him blood every 3 months. He only test for the psa btw down to 0.01.

My introduction and my decision
I'm presently on
eligard
and my oncologist at the VA wants to add taxotere.... I however have decided to discontinue treatment altogether..... After much soul searching and talks with my loved ones I have come to the conclusion that quality of life is much more important to me than longevity.....

Eligard

Feeling defeated.
Dr Drake placed me on
Eligard
in December due to a rising PSA on full dose xtandi. PSA was 1.7 at that time. Ct showed common iliac and retroperitoneal nodes. Bone scan was negative. Follow up PSA in Jan was 2.5 with testosterone <3. This week PSA is 3.9. Testosterone <3.

Metformin?
Is anyone here with metastatic stage 4 hormone naive (not yet castration resistant) PCa taking Metformin, in addition to ADT (Lupron or
Eligard
or degarelix)? If so what are your observations regarding effectiveness? Thank-you.

Inflammation / Joint pain / Trigger Finger
A ton of info from pjoshea13 and others but but unfortunately, due to my
Eligard
induced stupidity, it’s all like Hyroglifics to me!!! My story; Unfortunatelly, I did not know about sites like this until many months into my ADT treatment.
