Hi, me and my partner are thinking about going on holiday before our transfer, and are wondering how you travelled with your medication, I know we will be fine with tablets but i will be taking 2 different injections so I'm just a bit worried if planes have restrictions on these and will I have to declare before I go through security ect also will the environment affect the quality of the medications? Thanks in advance

Travelling with ivf medication

I think you can carry medication but you might need a letter from your GP to explain the medication
Hi lovely just get a letter from your clinic to say your having treatment
I have never been stopped and no one’s ever said anything I always travel with meds in my case and hand bag normally have to do a injection in the airport my clinic in Cyprus
Have a nice holiday and good luck with your treatment lovely
X
Hi, my clinic is in Cyprus so I've travelled many times with injections in my hand luggage. I've never had a problem and no one has ever queried it but I always carry the prescription with me. X
Thank you all for your information, I feel better now about booking, hope you are all feeling well and okay xx
hello Babyluck95 I have travelled with gonal f in my hand luggage , just took it out in a tray and it had phama sticker on it with my name and dr. If not just take a copy of prescription.
I did not have a check in luggage, at that time. I had no issues at all.
My clinic is in Athens.
We flew last week with a cooler bag full of meds and ice packs. The bag got stopped at security and got pulled from the scanner to be searched. I had a letter off clinic and my protocol etc but they just re scanned the bag and let me go.
When i’ve travelled for transfer with clexane etc they haven’t said anything. Depends where you go from I suppose.. we travel from Manchester and they’re arses xx
I travelled to Spain a lot with clexane injections and I used to take them out and show them to the security at the bag check and asked do these need to be out of the bag. Every time they said no and I never had issues.
You need a letter from clinic or gp
Hello, I think it's a good idea to have a GP letter or clinic letter to confirm your treatment/meds. Also worth mentioning if you are going anywhere warm (because I came up against this) that some injections have a max temperature they need to be kept below. We got round this by carrying them in a wee cool bag with some ice packs wrapped in face cloths (they also can't get TOO cold!) and popping a thermometer inside the bag. xx
Okay thank you, I plan to fly from London so hopefully all should be okay, I'm going to ring doctors tomorrow and ask for a letter also, I guess you can never be to careful x
