Seen Cardiologist today - confused!
Hi apologies in advance for long post. I've just been to see the cardiologist. He's also a electrophysiologist. He gave me a lot to think about: Bottom line: I'm mid-50s, type ii diabetic with a 2nd AF episode started 22nd July. Apparently now classed as having 'persistent' AF. He said AF will only

Left Ventricle?
Hi..had an
echocardiogram
yesterday and the radiologist is referring me to the cardeologist because she said she can't tell if my left ventricle is operating at optimal capacity...right away I'm spooked by this...since lockdown in 2020 I've gone from 4-5 days of 45 mins on the treadmill and moderate

where I’m at and what docs suggest
I asked for an
echocardiogram
(is that the one where they can see your heart in action?) and to wear a 3 day ecg. They said they would refer me for that. I don’t feel an ablation is necessary at this stage as my heart rate is otherwise normal overall. And what would Bisoprolol do?

May 2022 ECG and
Echocardiogram
June 2022. This showed slight and unexpectedly, that I had a significantly dilated proximal aortic root and there appears to be moderate to severe aortic regurgitation, at quite an eccentric jet. August 2022, CT Angiogram aorta.

Bradycardia Continuing After Reducing Bisoprolol?
I’ve had an
echocardiogram
showing no physical abnormalities, and had a 24 hour ECG in the past picking up 1 - 2% ventricular and atrial ectopic beats, with sinus bradycardia at times due to the Bisoprolol.

Diagnosis of LVSD
Only know about the Lvsd from a letter from the cardiologist after having an
echocardiogram
. Anyone else have this? Does it explain why I am exhausted all the time no matter how much sleep I have?

Periodic episodes of fluctuating tachycardia while in AFib.
Echocardiogram
says my heart is healthy and unremarkable. They give me flecaneid to take daily. Worked well for awhile. As time went forward, AFib got worse and more frequent. Eventually had cardiac ablation. Took amiadorone for 3 months then they pulled me off of it.

Mitral Valve Leak
I had an
echocardiogram
to see if my ejection fraction had improved after starting Dapagliflozin and Eplenernone a few months ago. My ejection fraction then was about 30-35% and he said it is now moderately impaired with an ejection fraction around 41%.

How I got my diagnosis
I was also told I would receive an
echocardiogram
shortly to check my heart. This didn’t happen for a month or so and it showed there was nothing wrong with the structure of my heart.

Thanks to you all
She thinks it was something the hospital was considering but, based on the
echocardiogram
saying left ventricle function doesn't seem significantly impaired, she thinks it can be disregarded. She said to mention it when we go for his lung function test in a few weeks, which I'll be sure to do.

Persistent AF and Flecainide impact
I was diagnosed with Persistent “cryptogenic” AF in Oct last year(bolt out of blue with no other health issues) which I was advised means no underlying cause (all new to me) after all bloods, x rays,
echocardiogram
.... all clear.

Bradycardia, chest pain and Bisoprolol
They captured it on ECG and after 7 hours it settled on its own - 13 hour wait in A&E again was told go home not to worry and another referral to Cardiology but this time they did direct request for
Echocardiogram
and Holter monitor. Actually had the Echo last week but still no Holter monitor.

My latest six-month review with a (2nd) locum.
There has been no increase in any aortic dilation and indeed your subsequent
echocardiogram
shows that the aortic root is of normal size and the arch and ascending aorta appear to have normal dimensions.”

My husband (age 65) had an
echocardiogram
in February last year, ejection fraction 40%, also mild/moderate regurgitation. A few days ago, out of the blue he has a copy of the Consultant Cardiologist's letter to our GP, suggesting he should take Spironolactone or Dapaglifozin.

2 seperate questions
Hi, 1) My Ventricular ejection fraction was 65% in Nov 21’ at my latest
echocardiogram
last month (14months later) was 56%. I appreciate are both within the normal range - is the 9% drop a trend to be wary of it is normal for this figure to vary with no cause for concern?

Which condition should I be most worried about
Over past 8 months I have suffered severe SVT, requiring visits to A&E. this led to a loop monitor being fitted and
echocardiogram
being carried out. Monitor recorded a 30second heart pause and I have just had a pacemaker fitted. Diagnosis of ecg was mild Aortic Stenosis.

Mild aortic stenosis
I was recently diagnosed following an
echocardiogram
. I will have a follow up echo in 3 years. The only medication I have is ramipril 2.5mg. I discovered my blood pressure was as high as it is now 5 years ago but the nurse only said it was a bit high and it wasn't pursued.

Doctors Appointment
He went through everything, has ordered me a heart monitor to wear 24 hours for a few days and asked for an
echocardiogram
, which would have been due in October to be done ASAP. I do have a vaguely leaky Mitral valve shown in previous tests.
