Waiting for an appointment
Obviously I don't want to start again on a
dopamine
agonist it took ages to come off them and the augmentation was severe. If anyone has advice on any treatment may be revelent until I get my neurologist appointment it would be appreciated.

Any info on RLS and Chronic Kidney Disease?
The impulse control issues of the
dopamine
agonist combined with the head injuries were problematic and have resulted in maxed-out credit cards, loss of jobs and hypersexuality.

relationship between diabetes mellitus and Parkinson's disease. Reuven Sandyk.
This issue, which has been largely ignored, is of clinical relevance since animal studies indicate that chronic hyperglycemia decreases striatal dopaminergic transmission and increases the sensitivity of postsynaptic
dopamine
receptors.

Levodopa-Induced Euphoria and Addictions in Parkinson’s. It's of concern for people with neuropsychiatric fluctuations between ON and OFF.
The conclusion of the abstract is "The psychostimulant effects of
dopamine
treatment during on‐drug euphoria, rather than avoidance of off‐drug dysphoria, appear to drive both behavioral addictions and abuse of medication."

Basic dopamine question
Dopamine
is made in the following way: Phenylalanine -> tyrosine -> l-dopa ->
dopamine
Who is responsible for doing this? Is it the
dopamine
neuron job or is it just the neuron's job to deliver the
dopamine
across the brain once it's produced?

Sometimes, if I do think of cigarettes, exercise will take away any wish to smoke: I guess it's the
dopamine
hit of exercise which in my case is usually yoga. Quitting smoking is one of the best things I ever did, and I never thought I would be able to do it.

Caution with drugs
They used two drugs on him that apparently should not be used for Parkinson’s one was a calcium channel blocker the other was amiodarone commonly used for heart arrhythmia these drugs block
dopamine
receptors My poor husband was on them two months before a nurse friend researched his drugs and found

Finding help after ADHD diagnosis post menopause
Especially since, as one psychiatric nurse explained to me, estrogen binds
dopamine
to neurotransmitters so it follows that with 65% less estrogen that a more specific treatment should be prescribed. But no psych's, not even the female ones, even know about this so are of no help.

Interesting thought Dr!
Yep, they’re still generating
dopamine
. Yet another stupid aspect of this nightmare I can add to my list that I posted recently.🤔😕

Parkinson's disease is caused by the degeneration of neurons in the area of the brain that manufactures
dopamine
, a neurotransmitter that affects movement. As
dopamine
production drops, characteristic tremors and speech, balance, and motor problems develop.

iPSC modeling of young-onset Parkinson’s disease reveals a molecular signature of disease and novel therapeutic candidates
Following differentiation into cultures containing
dopamine
neurons, induced pluripotent stem cells from patients with YOPD showed increased accumulation of soluble α-synuclein protein and phosphorylated protein kinase Cα, as well as reduced abundance of lysosomal membrane proteins such as LAMP1.

I think the low mood and fatigue is in part due to low
dopamine
action and higher prolactin. I consider the following protocol: Vitex agnus-castus berry extract (1000 mg?) to increase
dopamine
and deplete prolactin. Have less fatigue and higher mood. (Low Vitex causes prolactin to increase.

Has your PD symptoms changed since taking a MAO-B inhibitor (see list of meds below)?
The article, "Waking up dormant dopaminergic neurons to reverse Parkinson's disease" claims a MAO-B inhibitor could wake up
dopamine
producing neurons. This question is to see how MAO-B inhibitors have affected people here.

New ray of hope for people living with Parkinson’s disease
In Parkinson’s disease dopaminergic neurons produce
dopamine
, but the levels of which are reduced as neurons deactivate and eventually die. This can cause a number of symptoms, including impaired movement.
