Free of Dopamine Agonist But ...
Today, with the help of Buprenorphine, I am about 6 weeks free of Neupro. It is no exaggeration to say that I have not slept consistently this well for 30 years. It is absolutely a miracle. I could not be more thankful for the help I have received here that has gotten me to this place. However, there

Impulse Control Disorder on Dopamine Agonists. TV Drama Mr Bates v The Post Office
Research studies show that up to 38% of patients taking
dopamine
agonists are affected by ICD, and rates are probably much higher because doctors and patients do not make the link between out of character gambling/spending/sexual behaviour and
dopamine
agonists.

Have any one heard or tried L-Tyrosine ?
My son bought L-Tyrosine for me, and said it helps PD by research, it can help you make
dopamine
. It is a kind of Amino Acid. My doctor said that you can try it, but, should not take it with levodopa the same time, should take it apart from levodopa. Has someone tried it ?

Massachusetts Opioid Register Year 4 results
For those who have augmented on
dopamine
agonists and who have not responded to iron infusions or gabapentinoids, this study can help to persuade your doctor that opioids can be used safely to treat Refractory RLS. Interestingly 6.6% of the original 500 participants have switched to Buprenorphine.

Augmented, now a drug holiday
and it is time for detox from all
dopamine
agonists. Scared to go through this, but know that it's necessary. What did you all do to help with this process? Dr. tells me to expect 7-10 days with little to no sleep. Ugh!

Pramipexole withdrawals (Dopamine Agonist Withdrawal)
My dr was using Pram off label for depression hoping it would increase
dopamine
and help things out. No such luck. Now I am so messed up trying to get off it. Anyone have horrible mental issues while tapering?

Links between TSH and RLS. Have I found my cause in sub clinical hypothyroidism due to autoimmune disease Hashimoto syndrome?
Over the last 3 years my RLS has worsened in step with my rising TSH levels which according to some research I've read is expected as TSH has a negative effect on
dopamine
receptors. It's a
dopamine
antagonist. So I'm thinking if I can find meds to lower my TSH then that may help my RLS.

Restless Arm Syndrome unresponsive to DA used as diagnostic tool
An interesting article about diagnosis of Restless Arm Syndrome, where the patient did NOT respond to
dopamine
agonist treatment used as a diagnostic tool. The patient did respond fully to gabapentinoids. I must remember this when responding to those who are struggling to get a diagnosis.

Had every
dopamine
drug for many years and now completely free of them for at least 6 months . My question is although Trazodone is deemed not to affect RL I have unfortunately found that in my case they have made my symptoms worse? I have the restlessness in my arms too .

Vibration therapy
The vibration training almost completely prevented the MPTP-induced loss of
dopamine
neurons in the substantia nigra and upregulated BDNF.
This is an important result, since it suggests that WBV could act upon the primary cause of PD.
