Advanced Hormone Sensitive Metastatic Prostate Cancer
Immediately on diagnosis I started chemical ADT (bicalutamide and goserelin implant) and
Docetaxel
infusions every three weeks (course completed yesterday). My PSA is now 0.08 and still falling.

He had TURP, RT,
docetaxel
as first line. After the PSA started to increase he started Zytiga and had one year on it. He gets Turmeric since the diagnosis and since last month started to get BIRM as supplement. He has stable PSA of around 1-1,3 but liver mets were detected two months ago.

Since then he has had Casodex, Enzalutamide, R223,
Docetaxel
, Cabazitaxel and recently Abiraterone all of which have failed although Enzalutamide did work well for around 20 months.

Side Effect? On chemo but unsure what this is?
I am currently undergoing chemo before surgery for BC. I have had three treatments of EC and am now on Docetaxol with pertuzumab and trastuzumab but since being on this (had 2 so far, another one to go) I have noticed a discharge. I stopped my periods when I was 46 and was put on hrt due to not being

PSA rising
Just before my fourth
Docetaxel
Chemo it went up to 383. Now just before my fifth chemo it has gone up again to 452. I don't understand why it is rising like this. My oncologist said it is less of a worry because of my baseline number of over 10,000 so the increases are not large for me.

What has helped you during the post chemo "recovery".
I just had my first
Docetaxel
treatment. Then followed one day of grace ("Gee, maybe these treatments won't be so bad".) and two days of pure Hell (I'm a ghost, with a vise on my head, flames in my joints, I feel like I ate 12 boxes of Cheese Puffs, horrible, just horrible).

Survival and QOL With Abiraterone + Prednisone vs Docetaxel in Metastatic Hormone-Sensitive Prostate Cancer
Another recent comparison. Nothing earth shattering: https://www.practiceupdate.com/C/73457/56?elsca1=emc_enews_topic-alert "CONCLUSION Our findings suggest that AA + P + ADT is at least as effective as DOC + ADT in reducing the risk of death in men with mHSPC and better at preventing disease progression

My cancer has morphed to treatment-emergent small-cell neuroendocrine prostate cancer.
It's knocked me around, but has not been as bad a
docetaxel
. I am interested to hear of anyone else who has been down this path. I have had the same number of bone mets (about 10) since diagnosis 2.5 years ago.

Delays In Treatment?
Hi everyone. I decided a short while ago that I was going to write a book about the experience I had as a relative of somebody with terminal cancer. I feel this could be helpful for carers who are still on that journey. I feel that particularly because I have been reading comments in a forum for carers

More on the platelets-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR).
"Discussion "Our results confirmed the activity of abiraterone in post-
docetaxel
setting in routinely clinical practice with a PSA response rate of 44.5% and a median OS of 17.3 months comparable to results of the pivotal phase III clinical trial (de Bono et al., 2011).

My particular treatment has my PSA moving from 180 to 412 just as I I am about to complete my 6th round of
Docetaxel
. I am looking for compatible trials. My question is has anyone worked with this group? How does the money flow?Do they only want me if I have insurance they like?

Another fighter
Began eligard every 3 months, had 6
docetaxel
treatments and psa dropped to .4 It recently began rising quickly, now at 4.4 in just 6 weeks. About to begin xtandi and xgeva in addition to the eligard. Also poor kidney function due to some damage from the prostate.

My story - 16 years with metastatic prostate cancer - I’ve had just about everything
Had all the major side effects except fits, and it didn’t do much for the psa so stopped 8.BRCA2 mutation confirmed. 9.Trial for AZD6738 and Olaparib (a PARP inhibitor that was supposed to work well with BRCA2) - helped my mets a bit, but not the PSA. 10.Chemotherapy - Carboplatin and

Thalidomide and Lenalidomide in metastatic PCa.
RESULTS: Flutamide and
docetaxel
downregulated 'Steroid Biosynthesis', 'Cell cycle' and PCa specific transcription factor networks. Thalidomide inhibited 'Cell cycle' and 'E2F network', possibly accounting for its synergistic effects with
docetaxel

Has Docetaxel not worked for any of you?
I’m just wondering if this is common for some when given

?

Cabazitaxel failing- what's next?
He's had 3 very short lived treatments in 1 year-
docetaxel
6 rounds, Zytiga 1.5 months and cabazitaxel 7 rounds. The cancer has metastasized to his lungs besides being in the bones, so radium 233 is out of the question. He's started to have shortness of breath on exertion.
