Docetaxel + Carboplatin + Radiation
Hi 2sunflowers,
Been in this battle for six years (please see bio for complete treatment history).
A year ago I began 6 cycles of Docetaxel/Carboplatin chemo.
Had Aloxi drip before infusions to prevent nausea and it worked.
MO prescribed Dexamethasone day before, day of, and day after chemo to to mitigate side effects.
MO also recommended 100mg B6 orally to mitigate potential peripheral neuropathy. I also iced hands and feet during infusions.
Took Wisconsin American ginseng for fatigue, Google Mayo Clinic for their trial results. Left infusions with Onbody Injector of Neulasta to boost white blood cells and MO
recommended Claritin day before infusions and for 6 days to minimize bone pain.
Used Biotene products for mouth care.
All in all, not to bad. I had chemo on Tuesdays, felt OK on day of and day after chemo. Fatigue began on Thursday and by Friday I kept my pjs on. Fatigue was cumulative for me, so as cycles moved on it took longer to recover.
Best wishes. Never Give In.
