Docetaxel for Prostate Cancer: 'Win-Win-Win'Nick Mulcahy
Compared with standard of care,
docetaxel
was cost-effective in both M1 patients and M0 patients. A sensitivity analysis indicated a "very high probability" (>99%) that
docetaxel
is cost-effective in both M0 and M1 patients, the authors also stated.

Newbie with questions
I’m treating with Firmagon and Xgeva every 4 weeks, casodex and prednisone daily,
docetaxel
and neulasta every 3 weeks. Plan is to add Zytiga after we finish the 6
docetaxel
treatments. I wouldn’t wish
Docetaxel
on my worst enemy, but i’m over half finished.

ASCO Genitourinary Cancers Symposium (ARV7/AR ratio and neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) as predictors of docetaxel benefit)
Conclusions: The combination of low ARV7/ARFL high NLR and ratio evaluated in PBMC prior to

Castrate Resistant
He did 6 cycles of
Docetaxel
last Summer. If his PSA starts to rise on Casodex and Lupron does that mean his PC would be considered castrate resistant? Thanks for the info.

An update post chemo
I have had two injections of Eligard (2 x 3 month cycles), and completed a full cycle of chemo (
Docetaxel
). At the time of diagnosis, cancer had escaped the capsule and is in two lymph glands. No bone mets. In my latest blood test, the PSA was down to 1.4.

Advice Needed Urgently
Chemo would be Ketoconazole and Doxorubicin for weeks 1, 3, and 5 and Estramustine and
Docetaxel
for weeks 2, 4, and 6. No treatments during weeks 7 and 8. Not sure if radiotherapy is included or not. There is my conundrum. I'm at a fork in the road and I don't know which way to go.

Something I stumbled across on Medscape. Old news. Might be worth reposting for newer members.
Study Details In the study, 719 of the original 790 patients were eligible for the new subanalysis; 358 were treated with ADT plus
docetaxel
and 361 with ADT alone.

Adding PARP inhibitor (Olaparib) to the Standard Therapy (Zytiga/ADT/Prenosone)
He admitted they are real risks, but pointed out that they had the same concerns with adding
docetaxel
and abiraterone in STAMPEDE and LATITUDE trials which were proven wrong. PARP inhibitors are also "generally" well tolerated.

Radiation with Chemo
I'm on lupron,
docetaxel
and casodex. Start my third chemo next Tuesday. Started to get bone pain in my right scapular and asked the oncologist about radiation to deal with that. He said radiation shouldn't be used with some varieties of chemo. Does anyone know why this would be?
