Terminal advanced prostate cancer
I've had chemo (
Docetaxel
) and unfortunately the cancer has "morphed" and now doesn't give out PSA, so blood tests are now irrelevant. I have regular 3 month scans to compare the spread of the disease, and am now on second line hormone treatment ( Abiraterone ).

Zytiga post docetaxel
I have read that applying zytiga after chemotherapy is less effective than without previous chemotherapy. Have any of you with gleason 9 received zytiga after chemotherapy? When has time been effective? Thnks friends

Intermittent vs. Continuous ADT Treatment--Intriguing Research from State of the Science Report
•Mathematical simulations also predict that if an adaptive therapy approach is used with two drugs instead of one (abiraterone and
docetaxel
), time to disease progression could be increased four-fold.

As regards hydration before & after chemotherapy (docetaxel)........
I am taking 100mg/m2 of
docetaxel
(taxotere). The chemo session begins with 2 hours of hydration, followed by 2 hours of anti chemo side effects IV's and then 1 hour of chemotherapy. This is followed by 2 hours of hydration once again. A total of 7 hours, give or take a bit.

Xofigo is up next
I have been on
docetaxel
and cabazitaxle for most of the year. All they seem to do is keep the cancer in check. PSA has been up and down 7 to 13.

DOCETAXEL WITH NINTEDANIB
My dad started this combination last week after immunotherapy didn’t work. Cancer has not gone to his hip and stomach. This combo has hit him so hard vomiting, loose stools, feeling faint. Lack of appetite. Will this pass and if it works and he does on the tablet alone will the side effects just be

Do not take Hesperetin with Taxanes!
However, simultaneous exposure of cells to hesperetin and taxanes resulted in 9.8- and 13.1-fold reduction in cytotoxicity of
docetaxel
and cabazitaxel, respectively." *** Hesperetin in juice?

Emerging cell cycle inhibitors for treating metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer.
Therapy for metastatic CRPC includes abiraterone acetate, enzalutamide,
docetaxel
, cabazitaxel, sipuleucel-T, and radium-223. However, survival remains modest for men with progressive disease despite AR-targeted therapy and
docetaxel
, and therefore novel treatments are needed.

Phase 2 Trial of Irofulven to Treat Metastatic Castration-Resistant Prostate Cancer Opens in Denmark
Results were positive, including a 10% response rate in patients with prostate cancer previously treated with
docetaxel
and 13% in ovarian cancer patients relapsing between 6 and 12 months after standard treatment with carboplatin and paclitaxel, but were not deemed sufficient for regulatory approval

Enzalutamide Resistant already?
After my husband's PSA did not respond to zytiga, after rising post
docetaxel
while on Lupron and Casodex, he was switched to Enzalutamide. His PSA went from 6 to 1.0 ( August to September 12) in a month, now a month later( September 12-October 28) it's already back up to 1.6.

Another randomized clinical trial shows no benefit to adding docetaxel to radiation + ADT in high risk patients
On the whole, there is no benefit to adding
docetaxel
at the end of radiation and then continuing with long-term ADT in high risk men. One trial (GETUG-12) found a benefit to chemo PRE-treatment. https://pcnrv.blogspot.com/2016/08/

Survival benefit to debulking the prostate with hypofractionated radiation in men with low metastatic burden
Otherwise, it had no benefit - but
docetaxel
does! https://pcnrv.blogspot.com/2018/09/no-survival-benefit-to-debulking.html
