Survival and QOL With Abiraterone + Prednisone vs Docetaxel in Metastatic Hormone-Sensitive Prostate Cancer
Another recent comparison. Nothing earth shattering: https://www.practiceupdate.com/C/73457/56?elsca1=emc_enews_topic-alert "CONCLUSION Our findings suggest that AA + P + ADT is at least as effective as DOC + ADT in reducing the risk of death in men with mHSPC and better at preventing disease progression

My cancer has morphed to treatment-emergent small-cell neuroendocrine prostate cancer.
It's knocked me around, but has not been as bad a
docetaxel
. I am interested to hear of anyone else who has been down this path. I have had the same number of bone mets (about 10) since diagnosis 2.5 years ago.

Delays In Treatment?
Hi everyone. I decided a short while ago that I was going to write a book about the experience I had as a relative of somebody with terminal cancer. I feel this could be helpful for carers who are still on that journey. I feel that particularly because I have been reading comments in a forum for carers

My particular treatment has my PSA moving from 180 to 412 just as I I am about to complete my 6th round of
Docetaxel
. I am looking for compatible trials. My question is has anyone worked with this group? How does the money flow?Do they only want me if I have insurance they like?

Another fighter
Began eligard every 3 months, had 6
docetaxel
treatments and psa dropped to .4 It recently began rising quickly, now at 4.4 in just 6 weeks. About to begin xtandi and xgeva in addition to the eligard. Also poor kidney function due to some damage from the prostate.

More on the platelets-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR).
"Discussion "Our results confirmed the activity of abiraterone in post-
docetaxel
setting in routinely clinical practice with a PSA response rate of 44.5% and a median OS of 17.3 months comparable to results of the pivotal phase III clinical trial (de Bono et al., 2011).

Thalidomide and Lenalidomide in metastatic PCa.
RESULTS: Flutamide and
docetaxel
downregulated 'Steroid Biosynthesis', 'Cell cycle' and PCa specific transcription factor networks. Thalidomide inhibited 'Cell cycle' and 'E2F network', possibly accounting for its synergistic effects with
docetaxel
.

Has Docetaxel not worked for any of you?
I’m just wondering if this is common for some when given
docetaxel
?

My story - 16 years with metastatic prostate cancer - I’ve had just about everything
Had all the major side effects except fits, and it didn’t do much for the psa so stopped 8.BRCA2 mutation confirmed. 9.Trial for AZD6738 and Olaparib (a PARP inhibitor that was supposed to work well with BRCA2) - helped my mets a bit, but not the PSA. 10.Chemotherapy - Carboplatin and

Cabazitaxel failing- what's next?
He's had 3 very short lived treatments in 1 year-
docetaxel
6 rounds, Zytiga 1.5 months and cabazitaxel 7 rounds. The cancer has metastasized to his lungs besides being in the bones, so radium 233 is out of the question. He's started to have shortness of breath on exertion.

PSMA LU177 THERAPY IN GERMANY
Tried
Docetaxel
, Zytiga, Xtandi, Radium . Nothing helped . Currently on Lupron only. I am thinking and planning to get him into Germany. 1. Is university hospital Munich rechts der Isar a good place? 2. Is Dr Markus Schwaiger one of the best ? 3. Is one session enough ? 4.

Hola! Alguien puede ayudar?
Hasta ahora hemos combinado la terapia hormonal y
docetaxel
con altas dosis de theracurmin con un resultado prometedor (desaparición de afectación en ganglios y columna y reducción de tumor).

Overall Survival
For STAMPEDE, for example, it found
docetaxel
plus ADT improved Median OS from 45 to 60 months. That's why I opted for
docetaxel
. Yippee, I thought, 5 years, and I shall work hard to be on the long tail, maybe 10 years!

LU 177 after docetaxel and radium 223?
My husband has stage four prostate cancer that has progressed throughout his bones,
Docetaxel
did not work and his psa went up into the 90's. He is now on his second treatment of radium 223. We do not know, at this point, if it is working.

Biopsy report before surgery vs after surgery
Dad is doing well currently, he had 6 rounds of
Docetaxel
(which he was able to tolerate) to get rid of the lymph nodes and is now on Zytiga for 3 months and a half to prevent further growth.

Docetaxel vs Abiraterone?
Docetaxel
or Abirateroneb - Any thoughts about which one to do? Study results are similar but treatment duration and side effects are very different.

Latest results with initial treatment

Docetaxel
infusion, Lupron and Xgeva. WBC=12 WBC dropped to below 1 today. Received Neuopgen. He will probably do more Neupogen the next few days.
